So in conclusion I believe the pros clearly outweigh the cons. Simply buy some good quality coffee beans and enjoy. The one touch use is brilliant. The machine is practically “idiot proof”. Its sleek design is superb. The downsides of cleaning and price can be easily overcome (the cleaning-find someone else to do it! And the price, well there are numerous companies willing to give you credit nowadays and with the amount you will save well it’s worth it!). This is indeed a user friendly machine built with the consumer in mind. The brand, Miele, is reliable and screams quality. Advantages: Quiet, Excellent hardfloor cleaning, easy to use. Disadvantages: Not so great on pet hair, eats bags!!
...To cut to the chase me & vacuum cleaners don't get on! I break them or they are just not right for me! I recently purchased a Dyson dco7 upright It's a superb vacuum but i think they have used the decommisioned concorde engines in them as the noise was horrendusly loud & it was too big & bulky so i needed a different model.
I prefer a cylinder type cleaner & had heard great things about the Miele range & i have not been dissapointed. The above disadvantages refer more to my choice of model than Miele as a brand.The model in question is the Miele S381. It has an 1800 watt motor & is refered to on Miele's website as being bahama blue in colour. It seems to be the most basic cleaner in the Miele line up & cost £99 from Currys. I have looked in several other stores & have not seen this particular model anywhere elese.

Advantages: Miele quality and longevity Disadvantages: Price
...I originally bought into the Dyson story, though have never been greatly impressed by my DC05. The build quality appears lacking with the hose connectors being rather fragile imho, and cleaning power not being too great.
I already have a Miele washing machine and can vouch for the quality engineering in that. I therefore decided to replace my decrepid DC05 with a Miele. Miele have recently revamped their range with a higher power motor (up to 2200W). Being a man I'm all for extra horsepower! The new models are slowly starting to appear on the shop floor (mine was from John Lewis).
The Miele range seems quite confusing in terms of specs until you realise it is all based on a few things.
1) Power
2) Colour of unit
3) air filter (Hepa, S-class etc)
4) number of accessories included.
Some models allow you to upgrade the air filter...
