Got one of these to replace a Sanyo bagless upright. Went from having to vacuum the same spot for about 5 minutes to get rid of visible bits ( thick pile dark blue carpet) to more or less a single pass using the turbobrush attachment. The miniturbobrush included is good for cleaning the stairs.
The extendable metal hose section is a nice touch, makes it easier to use and store than the fixed type.
Reasonably quite even at the highest power setting.
Turbobrush affects the bag full indicator - only works when the standard floorhead is attached. This is a pain if you only use the turboheads - I end up opening the compartment to check instead.
I like the way the bag is retained within the cleaner, much more secure mechanism than I've seen on other makes. After thinking a bag has been attached when it wasn't this is a defite plus in the design.
My main criticism is that it feels plasticy, especially the tool storage department. A bit of trim has become unclipped, but was easily clipped into place wheras usually it would have broken.
Consumables are filters and bags. Not purchased any since getting the vacuum cleaner, but appear to be reasonably price both on the high street and online vendors. Compatibles available cheaply on ebay.
Someone I know has a Miele vacuum that has lasted for more than 20 years, so the initial expense may be worth the longevity.
One thing with all the suction power could be difficult to push the head around when using the turbobrush.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Welcome to Ciao. A good start but needs a lot more info. Any cylinder cleaner that uses a turbobrush will need air to supply the movement of the brush moving on the carpet, so stating that "One thing with all the suction power could be difficult to push the head around when using the turbobrush," seems a bit strange - the Miele model has a variable power suction control, doesn't it? If it gets too strong, you can lower the speed of suction. There is also an air outlet hole at the top of the hose so you can further lessen suction allowing the turbobrush to move at a less speed. The most important thing with this review is that it does need a lot more info because aside from mentioning your friend's older model and its period of use, there isnt anything here which couldnt be applied to any other cylinder cleaner. If you update with any more info on the Miele let me know. Importantly as this is a consumer site, you need to update with more info crucial to the model and what it does. This will help future consumers, particularly at a time when Miele are about to replace their entire range with a fresh model.
