This is by far the best dishwasher I've ever owned or used. It is expensive but it is so well designed I think it is worth the money.
It was very well packaged when it arrived and was therefore in complete unblemished factory condition. Installation went quite smoothly, although I had to redisign my kitchen slightly to give it enough depth to install in, as it really does go all the way back to the wall, and there was a pipe in the way. From the front base of the machine there are screws to adjust the height of the feet at the back, a very nice touch. The water inlet pipe has a fairly large block at the end which connects to the tap, which may cause problems for you depending on how easy it is to access your water connection. The block contains the inlet valve, which means that if the hose ever gets damaged it won't cause a leak, because the valve would still be closed.
The machine is very tactile in use, the door clicks open almost effortlessly when you pull on the handle, followed by a quiet whirr of the motor which extends the catch slightly out of the machine. This is so that when you close the door again to within a couple of centimetres of closed it grabs onto the catch and gently pulls it shut. When your chosen program has finished, the catch extends far enough to leave the door open about 15cm to enhance the drying. Inside it is pretty cavernous and can fit loads of plates, pots, pans etc. The cutlery is placed in a thin drawer right at the top instead of a basket like most other manufacturers use, so there is even more room for things like roasting tins.
The salt goes into a compartment in the door so you don't have to reach right inside a potentially dirty machine to fill it, and it also automatically senses the hardness of your water so it only uses the salt when it is required.
The baskets inside the machine are very well designed and are full of flip-out shelves and supports for various different types of crockery. The middle basket adjusts to three different heights on both sides independently (i.e. you can have it slanted if it helps you fit something in). And it's easy to change the height even when full of dishes. There are three spray arms, and the bottom two have rotation sensors so it can flash a light at you if they get blocked by something and can't turn. The light is built into the top of the door, along with all the other controls, and there is a thin transparent plastic prism installed under the counter top so you can see it with the door closed.
There are more programs than you can shake a stick at, and most of them have some optional extras which you can select, such as Turbo (faster, but less economical and uses more water), and Extra drying. The menu system is very easy to use, and there is also a useful 'i' button which elaborates on the program you have chosen (e.g. "for crockery with dried on starchy food" or words to that effect, I'd check but the machine is running at the moment...). Dishes come out very clean as you'd expect, and it is very quiet while running.

Welcome to Ciao. I think this is a pretty good first review, and have rated accordingly. You could, in truth, have said a bit more about those "more programmes than you can shake a stick at" and justified more why the machine's worth what looks like a very hefty price, but a solid start all the same.
