...programs than you can shake a stick at, and most of them have some optional extras which you can select, such as Turbo (faster, but less economical and uses more water), and Extra drying. The menu system is very easy to use, and there is also a useful 'i' button which elaborates on the program you have chosen (e.g. "for crockery with dried on starchy food" or words to that effect, I'd check but the machine is running at the moment...).
Dishes come out very clean as you'd expect, and it is very quiet while running....

Advantages: Ease of use, Quality, Efficiency Disadvantages: Initial cost (remember it is designed to last twice as long as other machines)
...A couple of years ago we went on Holiday to Germany and stayed in a self catering appartment on a farm. One of the pieces of equipment in the kitchen was a dishwasher, after 2 weeks using a dishwasher I thought how have we managed before!
On return from our holiday one of the first things I did was look at buying a dishwasher.
After checking out various different makes I came to the conclusion that the Miele range appart from being one of the most expensive looked as if it was far better put together than the other makes and that it was more enviromentally friendly in use of resorces (electricity, water and detergent).
I found a good deal on the MieleG646 and bought it.
Setting up the machine was easy, one water inlet hose connected to the cold water mains, outlet hose into the waste drain and the plug into the wall...

Advantages: Very Quiet, very easy to program, load and unload. Disadvantages: Only Price. But with our last machine lasting 18 years, good value.
...cover every brand of Rinse aid or powder.
If you stack the dishes too high and obstruct one of the wash arms - the machine tells you.
Our previous Miele Dishwasher (G579) lasted 18 years and the Miele Washing Machine is over 20 so we are hoping for the same longevity from this one....
