    Disadvantages Disadvantages Pricey, facial air blast, could have a longer cord, motors not lifetime guaranteed.

    Following the disappointment of a Bosch vacuum cleaner I purchased last Christmas, I thought I might try and research a bit more into floorcare appliances and "see where brands are going," where models are concerned and oh how the prices of even the cheap bagless or bagged vacuums have suddenly risen due to the economy! Before I even give you reasons to why I think I and hundreds of other buyers are made for choosing dust bags over the bagless vacuum cleaner, ask yourself these questions: 1) Would you prefer a see-through/clear toilet in your home compared to coloured porcelain? 2) Or how ... more

    Decided to go against the flow and get a Miele instead of a Dyson. This paid off - the Miele is great, especially if you have pets. It has incredibly strong suction and takes up any cat or dog hair in instants. Bit expensive but it's still going after 4 years, so I guess it paid off. One problem with it is that you can't go round corners very easily, it's a very rigid vacuum cleaner, and you can only really do straight lines. Also, hoovering under sofas and beds is difficult because the steel pole attaching the head to the body of the vacuum cleaner is completely straight, and so you have to ... more

    Having been fortunate to own a number of Miele products, I recently purchased a Miele S5211 vacuum cleaner when my current model exploded in a cloud of burning rubber! As usual, I have been astounded at the quality that Miele builds into their products; beautifully made, quiet, light and very efficient. The bags change easily and although they can be a pain to find in the High St, they are easily available online. Sometimes it is difficult to know which type of 'hoover' to buy; uprights, industrial strength, British-made bright yellow ones...!!? I have been through the same process but can ... more
