Miele S 5211

Now if the Miele 5211 was your girlfriend, it would be Charlotte Church????.quite good looking, voice of an angel, you can?t fault the performance but you?ll have to change the bag once in a while. Joking aside, this is a fantastic vacuum cleaner from Miele.

PERFORMANCE

In all fairness, if your still reading this review then fair play, even writing out those specifications was incredibly boring! What you really want to know is does the thing clean the house well?

Well the answer is a resounding yes!!!!!!!!

If god could choose a vacuum he would choose a Miele. Why? Well god was well known for his ability to create a few miracles once in a while. Well the Miele performs a miracle in my house every week! I am often amazed at what a good job it does on both my wooden floors and the carpets. The main secret is the powerful 2200 watt engine which practically lifts up the floorboards as it effortlessly glides its way through the jungle that is ?Hidden Dirt? in my house. I must confess however, it is so good, its almost too good! What I mean by that is if you happen to run over anything that is not strapped to the floor or weighs more than a rhino, this thing will try and suck it up into its carnivorous belly!!!!! I have spent many a morning trying to steal my rug back from the jaws of the beast (I have lost on a couple of occasions!)

Noticebly though, it is extremely quite, because it has a built in silent setting. This is useful because my dog was considering legal action against me for regularly ?SCARING THE CRAP? out of him. It does however make the vacuum akin to a stalking tiger, sucking up any prey that is unwittingly strewn across the floor. (my delight in seeing my girlfriends latest edition of COSMOPOLITAN being destroyed by the jaws of the beast who?s hunger is never satisfied, was a beautiful, beautiful moment).

As mentioned in the specifications, it comes with the usual attachments (Upholstery Nozzle, Dusting brush, Crevise nozzle) which are all useful, but you?ll find you use them for the wrong job e.g the upholstery nozzle doubles up as a fantastic dog cleaning devise?????sorry did someone mention RSPCA (I?m just kidding before I get complaints !!!!!!).

The other pleasing aspect of its performance is the fact its not too heavy (7.7kg to be precise). Many times I have practically suffered a triple hernia trying to lift vacuums up my stairs, precariously balancing it on the edge whilst cleaning at the same time. I?m not gonna lie, but DYSON are awful for this, its more like having a workout than doing the hovering!!!!! The Miele however is quite manageable and it also has an easy lifting handle on the top which makes for easy manoeuvring.

Now DYSON listen up, your new (And might I add ugly) design for the vacuum that moves in ever direction has infact been around for a good many years, so please refrain from plugging you grotesque WHEELBARROW CLEANER as a revolutionary design. The Miele WILL move in any direction you like because its on swivelling 360 degree wheels. They have always done this!!!!!!

SAFETY

The Miele when used correctly is extremely safe, two of the best benefits are the automatic THERMAL SAFETY CUTOUT, which prevents the machine from setting alight if there?s a blockage and the ANTI STATIC HANDLE which will prevent electric shocks occurring in the event of an electrical fault. I will note however that using the Miele to clean large dogs will result in almost certain injury.

PRICE

At a notch under £140, this in my opinion is a well priced vacuum. Certainly it is a lot better at doing the job than any DYSON I have used at the same price, which in my opinion have the sucking power of a slightly undersized pigeon with a 20 a day habit. Its light, manoeuvrable but extremely powerful, so well worth it.

So

All in all this is a fantastic vacuum cleaner. It is also made by the world famous Miele, which basically means top top quality and virtually indestructible! (My mum has a Miele washing machine which is still going strong after 20 odd years!). Well worth the money you?ll pay for it.
