Over the last year my hoover has gradually been losing its suction, and I was rather annoyed to discover a few weeks ago that it had almost completely stopped sucking. That would explain why I had to go over and over my carpet time and time again before it would look anywhere near clean.
I am one of these people that never like to throw things away so I just struggled on with it. But now it has stopped sucking completely I guess I was left with little choice but to throw it away and buy a new one (it was about 5 years old anyway).
So with a tear in my eye I took my old hoover down to the dump and set out to buy a new one..
After spending an hour or so hunting around the shops I came across the MieleCat-Dog TT5000. I guess half of the reason I fell in love with it is the design. It has a very modern design and I just liked the look ...

The MieleCAT & DOG TT-5000 (S5260) Cylinder is a revelation. The suction power is variable for differnet surfaces - curtains or furniture etc. Full power 2200 - low power 300 watts.
Even with full power 2200 watts it seems very quiet - the first one my cats not afraid of!
It has automatic cord rewind and tools on board. 3 onboard accessories include the dusting brush - with natural bristles, an upholstery nozzle and crevice nozzle. They are stored within the body of the machine.
It is a cylinder vacuum so it is light weight and easy to operate.
It has a thermal cut out, in case of overheating if there was a blockage.
Miele state that the hoover has been tested for 1000 hours which is 20 year usage!
It comes with an active air filter, but you can easily buy a hepa filter.
It comes with a buffer strip around the body ...

a couple of years they were both well past their best to say the least. Maybe hovering up plaster bits isn?t such a good idea then? Once the major building work was finished and after a bit of discussion and investigation we decided to buy one good vacuum cleaner between us ? mom and I we?re not THAT interested in housework believe me!
SO WHICH ONE DID WE GO FOR?
Well we looked round places like Curry?s, Comet and in the Argos catalogue and we kept coming back to the Miele. I hadn?t had a cylinder vacuum cleaner before, always preferring the uprights that I grew up with and I hadn?t even heard of Miele!
The one we decided on was the MieleCat and Dog TT 5000 although at the time we had neither a cat nor a dog but this one seemed to be the best for power and performance from what we could see so this was the one we chose.
