...of suction over time, the miele bags seem better quality than other bags -- if you suck up plaster dust or flour then yes of course the bag will get clogged, according to the manual. Thats fine by us. Even then you just change the bag. There is a very good suction indicator which lets you know when its time to change the bag. Its so easy to use a bag, you throw it away and get a brand new clean bag in there. Much quicker and healthier than trying to clean filters and dust compartments. On full power, the suction is so powerful, that you have to put your full weight against the handle to push it along the carpet, its that powerful. We wonder that maybe Dyson loose some suction power because they create a cyclone, all that spinning air must lose energy. Anyhow, we have had no problems with loss of suction over time, the miele bags seem better quality than other bags -- if you suck up plaster dust or flour then yes of course the bag will get clogged, according to the manual. Advantages: It seemed to be very well built and cleaned well at first. Disadvantages: It stopped working after five days!!
Maybe I have just been unlucky but this is one of the most expensive domestic vacuum cleaners on the market and it stopped working just five days after delivery. The retailer, Tribal UK, seems to have no after-sales service at all and they suggested I send the machine back to Miele. I did this and now I cannot get a reply from them. Recommended for medium to high pile carpeting and smooth flooring, the Miele S5 Galaxy S5980 Capricorn HEPA vacuum cleaner includes a 13 5/8" wide powerbrush ideal for thick pile and pet hair. A parquet floor brush also is included to thoroughly but gently clean wood and tile floors.
