Manufacturer's product description
Using the ATA 133 connectivity standard, the Alchemy PCI card from Miglia guarantees high data transfer rates at an affordable price. Providing a bandwidth of 133 Megabytes/second on each of its two channels, the Alchemy IDE card allows you to connect up to four hard drives in your PowerMac (depending on available drive bays). Users of PowerMacs G3 will see huge performance improvements over the built-in IDE interface, when fast hard drives are attached to the Alchemy ATA card. The Alchemy ATA 133 PCI card is also compatible with PowerMacs PCI 7200 to 9600, allowing the users of those machines to add storage space at a much lower cost compared to the built-in SCSI-2 interface. Of course, the Alchemy ATA 133 PCI card is fully compatible with Mac OS 8.6 to 9.x and Mac OS X. Best of all, you can use a hard drive attached the card as a boot volume. The Alchemy ATA 133 supports drives larger than 137 GB (128 GB), allowing you to use the new Maxtor 160 GB drives without any limitations. This card is compatible with PowerMac 7200, 7300, 7500, 7600, 8200, 8500, 8600, 9500, 9600 and clones; and PowerMac G3 Beige, PowerMac G3 Blue and White, PowerMac G4.
