...Abit KA7-100 is the new updated version of the motherboard which i have just bought. Extras now included support up to 8 ide devices. which use the ultra ata/100, or ultra DMA/100, is the extension of the ultra ata/66 interface. The high speed interface has a 100 MBYTES/sec transfer rate and maxmimized disk proformance under the current PCI local bus environment I would also liked to add that the ABIT web site is very helpful and even a novice would be abe able to fit this motherboard with the help of the best manual of any motherboard i have ever bought EXCELLANT PRODUCT... ...I have a chaintech motherboard in my P3 system and it hs lots of good points to it: - Supports Intel Pentium II and Pentium III processors up to 733MHz Celeron 466MHz System clock 66/100/133MHz Slot 1 with convenient retention mechanism High efficiency switching power module There are temperature sensors on the board to keep you updated all the time about temps and fan speeds. It will take up to 768 MB of ram at speeds of 66/100/133MHz ram depending on the processors bus speed. It comes with a cd full of drivers and some free software like antivirus which is very helpfull.... Read review

It features: *6 optional USB ports Everything seems to be converting to USB these days so look out for the boards with as many of these on. -- *1 IEEE1394 Firewire port For fast transfer speeds, similar to USB but less support. -- *SATA hard drive compatibility Best hard disk performance on a non SCSI system. Your older existing ATA hard disk will still run on the ATA-133 bus. -- * 8GB of system memory. Great for multitasking and multimedia.
