    Come Sunday evening many golf fans expected Tiger to be picking up a record third consecutive green jacket. Not so. The new champion is a 26 year old, left hander from Canada. Thats right Mike Weir. Not only did the world number 10 (now 5th) win his first major championship, he also put Canada and those 'lefties' on the map with their first masters titles. Weir eventually beat Len Mattice in a tense play off down the tenth but in my eyes the title was won on the last green of real play. Mattice was a few groups in front of Weir and after driving into the trees he managed to salvage a bogey and ... more
