    Advantages Advantages Compelling gameplay

Disadvantages Disadvantages Far too expensive, bad graphics and poor sound quality

Well, I'm a bit behind the times with this game. It came out more than a year ago and I only just got it a few days ago. I discovered its existence when a few of my friends were chatting about it on facebook. I later discovered that at least 7 of my 69 facebook friends has the game (all of them male teenagers, hence the review title). I can't really afford to be going about spending money on games but as this is really popular with my friends, I thought I may as well try it. The game is currently €14.99 from the official website (roughly £13.72). Gameplay/Playability The game works on a basic ... more

Introduction Minecraft is a sandbox indie game made by Markus Persson or but known as ‘Notch’. I started playing this game about one year and have really enjoyed it! The programmer for this game is Jens Bergensten or but known as ‘Jeb’. Minecraft is a block game which allows people to build whatever they can think of from a basic home to a huge city. It is currently still under the development and updating to give the game more to do and after you pay once you never have to pay again. Gameplay Dimensions The game has three dimensions, one is called ‘world’ which is just like Earth before towns ... more

Advantages Advantages Mindless fun, great if you have hours to kill.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Servers can be painful to set up.

Minecraft! Well I'm not sure why but I never really thought about reviewing this before. Not, I think, because I feel it isn't worth reviewing, not really either because most if not all "Gamers" are already very aware of it. I think that it might be because for me, Minecraft isn't really a game. I haven't solely reviewed games here, some books got a write up but the recurring theme with all of my reviews is that I could have an opinion about the thing currently being dissected and nine times out of ten somebody would be able to agree with it. There are only so many ways you can play a game, in ... more

Advantages Advantages Limitless, encourages creativity and imagination, single-player/co-op, addictive!

Disadvantages Disadvantages frame rate slightly under the necessary 25 per second on some computers

I downloaded Minecraft just yesterday, and all ready I find myself captivated by its different possibilities. The 'survival' mode is playable in single-player, and as a co-op. You spawn on a randomly generated world (cliffs, hills, beaches, waterfalls, caves and many more features), with nothing but the clothes you are wearing. You are immediately (although slightly indirectly) faced with the challenge of surviving your first night. In Minecraft, wherever there is darkness, there is a possibility of a monster spawning. In order to build your first shelter, you really need to be working from ... more

Advantages Advantages Longevity and value for money.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Sounds!

Introduction: I had never heard of minecraft before but then suddenly everybody everywhere seemed to have it and people said I should get it so I did (it's around £10 by the way) and then realised it is a sand box game for those who are not familiar with the term sandbox it pretty much means a building game. Surviving the first night: Ok so to survive the first night you will need some wood and to get wood obviously you have to chop down a tree so to do that wander up to a tree and hold down the left mouse click your character should start punching the tree once he has finished a piece of wood ... more
