Sony MDS-JE 480

Advantages: Its a Sony!! High quality, cheap price
Disadvantages: None

...1 X coaxial output. The player will fit in well with other Sony HiFi separates to make a highly competent home music system. I have been advised that the unit can now be purchased for around 110 pounds which i would say is a very good buy. Highly recommended. ...

Sony MDS JE 530 B

Advantages: Sony
Disadvantages: Its an old model now.

...you would expect with any Sony item. The layout on the front is pleasing to the eye, and the display is clear and crisp. The buttons are all clearly labelled and in my opinion exactly where you would expect them to be. The sound quality is crisp and clear and on a par with my CD seperate. You can use the editing functions to merge and divide tracks, move tracks around and to write text for the individual tracks. The editing menu is easy to use, ...
...consuming nightmare. The editing knob has to be turned until the desired letter is selected, then this has to be done for every letter you want to put in. It doesnt sound much, but when you are doing a twenty track MD with song titles and artist names I certainly found it a little tedious. As a summary, this was a great MD player in its day, and it still is in its own way. Its design, style and build quality are typically Sony, and if you can pick ...

Amazing value

Advantages: Has everything MD's have to offer
Disadvantages: Sony have now produced soom better models

...very inferior tape format. As Sony have been making Minidiscs for the longest it is no surprice that can come up with the best deck, offering features which include a very useful keyboard input save time inputing those track names on the remote and 4 inputs (2 optical, 1 coaxial and 1 analogue). The sound quality offered here is next to perfect and the playback of pre recorded discs is good as well. The casing of unit is very solid and will match ...

Decent budget MD player

Advantages: It is Minidisc, not bad sound
Disadvantages: Cheap made, no digital out

...fascia rather than the usual Sony aluminium, and the remote is standard budget Sony. Sound quality is basically quite good, great for making MD for the car, or recording off digital TV staying in digital from box to MD (I record off The Hits, TMF and Radio 6). Labeling a MD is a chore as there is a choice between a knob to twiddle or pressing buttons on the remote - three presses for C or F ect. Some MD players have sockets for a PC keyboard. ...

Turn mini into MASSIVE

Advantages: Awesome sound quality, Brilliant bass and treble capability,Brilliant recording facilties onto the new "medium" of writing MP3S on to portable audio, available in stylish colours such as balck and metallic silver, Easy to use
Disadvantages: In terms of mini disk players on the market today can seem quite expensive (£240) - as you can see not the cheapest around, remote control is a little confusing, especially for the technophobic first time user (all of the buttons, seem to be in IT Jargon)

...far. I would recommend the Sony MDS-JB 980 to anybody.. And this is why... -The review - Right so I suppose you will want to know about the performance of the mini-discplayer, well here we go: The speed ---------------------------------------------------------- I have found that the Sony MDS-JB 980 is very quick, both in transfering MP3 formats and .WAV formats which is the same as what a normal CD would be. In terms of actual time it has taken ...
...It is a shame that SONY only brought this model out in the colours BLACK and SILVER. Althoush my parents dont really care about the colour, I think it would be a good idea to introduce covers, similar to the NOKIA express on covers, to electronic goods, so that people can put their electronic goods, such as the Sony MDS-JB 980, in to the correct theme to suit the room of the house. I know you may think this is a bit stupid, but black in a green room, ...
