Advantages: ultra compact, turns on quickly, works as a web cam, internal flash with no moving parts Disadvantages: Blurry without flash, trouble with action stills.
I've had this camera for nearly a month now and been quite pleased with its performance. With the flash on, the pictures come out perfectly, but sometimes they are a bit washed in daylight settings. Turning off the flash poses a problem: the pictures turn out blurry without use of a tripod to steady the camera.
Overall quality of the pictures is good and there are a variety of settings to increase or decrease the quality, which dramatically changes ... ...memory card. I would reccommend getting a bigger sd memory card than the 16mb included, since it only holds about 20 pictures at 1280x960 at fine quality. A 128mb card (holds 140+ pics) costs only 28-30 pounds.
Despite the camera's extremely compact size, it still has room for loads of features. The viewfinder is plenty big enough to see the writing on the menus and to preview the pictures that one has recently taken. There is even a zoom and scroll ...

Advantages: small, built in zoom lens Disadvantages: not so good for indoors use
...then about a month later Minolta released an updated model, the XG, where mine is an XT. It is effectively the same camera except it has a few more modes i.e. sports, landscape etc etc, which the XT doesn’t offer. They are offering my camera for £193.99 on Amazon.co.uk but the newer model the XG, is £159.99 in silver. So I would recommend the XG to potential buyers as it is a slightly updated camera but for less money.
Overall I would I recommend ... ...it slips into all of my pockets even into my jeans, which have notoriously small pockets. It also takes great shots which is a bonus. But don’t forget to look for the new updated Minolta Dimage XG, as I said effectively the same camera but for less of your pennies ...

Advantages: Small metallic build. 3 megapixel. Great audio options. Optical viewfinder. 3 x optical zoom. Disadvantages: Underexposed images in low light. Viewfinder is limited. No protector on lcd screen.
The Xt looks fantastic - I love the design of this neat digicam - and I expected it to impress ! But in terms of image quality - It was a dissapointment !.
There is little doubt that the camera is stylish and well constructed but when compared to the DiMage X20 (half the price of the Xt) it really did not produce better results.
Straight to the Point and Shoot !
Despite the excellent settings and options including the movie and audio options - ... ...the picture. In average to low light conditions the image is grainy and underexposed and using the flash just gives a bluish tint to the scene. The camera shake warning indicator would come on even in reasonable artificial light - and in this situation a tripod or very steady hand is needed !!! To eliminate this annoying warning indicator altogether you must use the flash. Some commentators suggest a manual adjustment to the exposure setting - which ...

...a leading manufacturer of cameras. Minolta has proved themselve a leader in Digital Camera technology.
The Xt comes in a stainless steel finish and has only one moving part; the shutter cover over the lense. There is no sticky out bits even when zooming in on your subject.
I would recommend that you take this on holiday, keep it in your handbag or glove compartment for those special moments.
I would seriously recommend that when you purchase the ... ...will allow you to capture lots of video footage too.
If you purchase this little baby, you can hook it up to your PC for instant webcam that is incredible by comparison.
I don't want to get technical, just pop down to your local camera shop and give it a spin. Do not let the size decieve you.
Due to popular demand (well feedback anyway....) here is the more boring technical stuff for you to review:

Advantages: small and easy to use Disadvantages: night use
...The very small and lightweight Minolta Dimage Xt is perfect for taking away with you on holiday, on a night out or even for random photos around the house. I recently took it to a concert and it survived being stuck in my pocket, banged about and it even took excellent photos and films.
At 3.2 megapixels the quality of the photos are excellent. Of the few films that I have recorded, every one of them has turned out excellent. The sound quality is ... ...of 85.5 x 67 x 20 mm and weighing in at only 120g this is the perfect camera to fit into any pocket. The added bonus of the internal optical zoom means that the size stays small all the time. The only down point of this camera that I can find is the flash doesn’t travel very far. Taking a photo at night can be a problem if the subject is far away. Also, watch out for the manual as it refers to the wrong pages, they are there but as different numbers.
