I had one of these for christmas from my boyfriend. I'm a ceramics artist and am always looking for ways of photographing my work to show it at its maximum potential, but at the same time usually need the images quickly so they can be sent away to galleries.
This camera is a just perfect. The pixellation, although noticable when you enlarge, is minimal. The colours are vivid, and with a choice of sepia, black and white and colour you can get lots of different effects from one image. There is also a chice of video-clips, which is great fun, but not something I personally use a lot.
The images are instant, you can see them through a screen at the back or in the conventional way through a viewfinder, which I personally find best.
Due to the advanced functions, it is possible to take photos with depth of field similar to those taken by a conventional slr camera. For my work this is vital as I can do close up's on small parts of my worrk and increase their picture quality to make them look (almost) better than they do in real life!
This camera is easy to use, I am no expert in photography, but after briefly skimming through the instructions book I had enough information to play with the controls and take some interesting pictures.
I would advise you to get a battery recharger though - it eats batteries! A set of batteries for this machine only last about a day, but if you have rechargable batteries this isn't a problem as you can have some in the camera and some at home charging - otherwise it could be very expensive!
Apart from that, I would definetly reccomend this camera - it is fun, not too heavy to carry around and takes some exciting images which you can delete immediately if they catch you blinking!!
