Mio Technology has introduced two new satnav systems. The Mio268 is the first purpose-built, genuinely portable satnav with a sub-£300 UK rrp. The Mio269 comes pre-installed with European maps at £399. Whether driving to a meeting, mountain biking, walking in a city the Mio268 can destress planning and navigation.
With pre-set modes for car, motorbike, bicycle and foot, they are specifically designed for every need. Want to get from A to B by car with the minimum of fuss? Urgently need a petrol station? Need to find a country pub to break your cycle ride for lunch? You'll find everything within easy reach. There's also an MP3 player for when you aren't on the move.
Both are portable, so they don't make your vehicle a beacon for thieves. Instead they can be easily carried in your pocket.
Selecting destinations is easy, using the touch screen or from a list of user-programmed destinations.
You can also plan routes before setting out. When you need to get home after a long day, just press the 'home button' and it will direct you back home.
Whether in the car, on bike or foot the portable nature of the units is suited to many modes of transport, including walking. Safety comes as standard. E.G., when in bicycle mode it directs you towards cycle routes, keeping you away from busy roads. The Mio268 could be ideal for a small firms first foray into satnav technology.
