    User doesn't recommend the product

    Advantages Advantages I didn't get pregnant, no weight gain or sore boobs/mood swings. Didn't affect libido

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Constant bleeding/spotting. Boyf could feel the strings. Uncomfortable

    I love the idea of the Mirena. Insert it and you can just forget about it and don't have to worry about contraception for 5 years AND most women get lighter periods or no periods at all, In theory this is great but in practice it was quite a different story. I had the Mirena inserted in October 2008 and a week later i started bleeding heavily. This lasted for 6 weeks until i went to see my GP and got some Tranexamic acid and mefenamic acid which really slowed down the blood loss. All was great for a couple of months after this but then i started bleeding again. Some days it was significant ... more
