Advantages: Multiregion, Dolby Digital Decoder. Disadvantages: May Not be Avalible Anymore.
...Available from Argos this was a bit of a shock. I wanted a Multi-Region DVD player with a built in Dolby Digital Decoder and this £179 player fits both.
It is multi regional by a hack (open tray press 77 enter, Change region to 13 for multi region) and has a built in DD decoder.
On the outside the player looks and feels cheap. The tray is a cheap and the buttons on the front feel cheap. But inside is a nice little player. The picture is sharp and the sound is great.
One very good feature is remote. It looks good and has all of the functions needed as well. I
As this DVD has a built in Dolby Digital Decoder you only need a 5 channel amp to have full Digital and saves money for home cinema.
All in all a great little player with lots of good features. And all this for £170 a bargain.
I has put this DVD with a Pioneer 409RDS 6...

Advantages: Nice looking, nice sounding, reasonable value for money. Disadvantages: Upgrades are not that enticing and the remote control does not send out a strong signal.
...I was drawn to the Teac 500 system because I wanted something more "high-fidelity" than an Aiwa all-in-one unit but didn't want to mix and match units.
The advantage of having separates is that you can change units and therefore upgrade the system. Over time Teac have added various options such as 7 disc CD player, DVD player, AV amp.
The advantage of having separates all designed by Teac is that the system has one remote control, can serve as an alarm clock and is semi-intelligent. For example, if I switch the amp from CD to tuner, the CD player automatically stops.
I added a pair of Mission 701s to it and have found that it sounds superb.
I have two gripes though:
The remote control looks good, has all the required functions but has to be used 10cm away from the unit. I have e-mailed Teac to ask if they have a solution but have...

Advantages: Lots of power, great sound, and superb functionality/connectivity Disadvantages: USB interface quite limited, learning remote struggles with some remotes
...effective with the amp measuring the distance from each speaker very accurately, and checking for sonic nasties like standing waves, phase problems etc.
One bonus in the spec of this amp is that it is THX rated and I am certainly pleased with the dynamics this produces when watching a good film.
The amp has plenty of 'va va voom' although obviously this depends on your speaker/sub setup. The power rating is actually 150DIN watts per channel although I am not sure how this compares to RMS figures. It easily has the same power as my Yam, and probably a fair bit more I suspect but I have never found the need to push it near its limits.
I have mine hooked up to Mission 753 fronts, M7C1 centre, M70DS rears, and a Paradigm PS1000 sub, and it has more than enough welly for anything I need!
Additional niceties on this beastie are thing like its i...

This perfume is my favourite perfume at the moment! I got one of the limited edition bottles which has gold on the front of it so the bottle looks really bling bling. The size of the bottle I got was 50ml but it comes in different sizes of 35ml, 50ml and more
