models from rival manufacturers. This has given it two advantages - one of them expected, the other unexpected. The expected advantage is that the 3900's specification is higher than that of its competitors. The unexpected advantage is that rival manufacturers are now replacing the models they introduced earlier and are falling foul of the downturn in the value of Sterling against the Yen. In other words, rival manufacturers are all introducing new products to compete with the 3900, but because of the current exchange rate, these new models are turning out to be a lot more expensive, when they hit the UK. This makes the 3900 something of a bargain! Many people are waking up to the fact that the 3900 is now one of the best buy top end receivers around. Its credentials are awesome - 7 x 140 watts, plus Four HDMI 1.3 inputs and twin outputs, plus full networking, plus iPod connectivity, plus front USB port for Mp3 playback, plus Bi-amping capability, plus Anchor Bay 1080p upscaling, All that, at a price that is hundreds of pounds lower than its nearest rival - and (as many reviewers have already noted, it sounds fabulous too!
other Home Cinema amps this year. We're pretty confident with that prediction, but if we're wrong, then it will probably be because the 607 is pipped to the post by none other than the 507!
Advantages: Modern Looking/ 5 Year Guarantee Disadvantages: Not The Best Speaker(s)
...Another home audio speaker to pass through my household is this - the Mission m50.
The speakers come packed in a box, with an image of the speakers on it, so you can see exactly what you are in for. Also, along with them, comes an information manual, pointing out the various specs and features of the speakers. The manual is easy to read, and the speakers appear (I didn't set these ones up personally) simple to set up.
These speakers are intended for indoor use and once removed from the box, you will realise that these speakers are in actual fact, extremely compact, and nicely designed. The actual dimensions of the speakers given on the box are: Height: 220 mm, Width: 140mm and the depth is 255mm.
The packaging also tells us that: 'The Mission's stylish rounded baffle technique has been developed especially for the m5 series...

Advantages: Its Mission quality Disadvantages: Not much Speaker for the money you have to pay
...To celebrate their 25th anniversary Mission launched the 750 Limited Edition bookshelf speakers.
Only 7000 pairs of this little gorgeous sculpture are being made, and then it's over.
The 750 is an entirely new speaker, based on no older Missions. It comes as a tiny but weighty 2-way model, clad in lush real rosewood or black ash veneer, and looking not unlike a Sonus Faber Extrema (after all this is an Italian magazine, so I have to honour my host, comprende?).
The driver compliment is made up of a 13cm Aerogel woofer, and a silk dome tweeter (as in the other Mission 75-series speakers).
The bi-wiring binding posts are heavily gold-plated, and there is a reflex port at the back, which precludes use close to a wall.
Sensitivity is 86dB/W@1m, and the nominal impedance is 6 Ohms, not hard to drive. The 750s look very attractive...

Advantages: Weight (per cabinet) 17.8Kg, or 39.3lbs. Twin 165mm DiaDrive bass units. Viotex fabric dome treble unit . Also the mission m34 speaker unti has a port that can be filled with sand to increase the wieght by each speaker by 5kg Disadvantages: Unless filled with sand sound quality can be slightley hollow feeling. slightley thin for how tall the unit is.
...The Mission m34i design has simpley came from missions highley sucsessful range of floor standing speakers. the mission m34i speakers come with a massive sensitivity of 92db with a frequency responce of 44khz- 20,000 hz. Now for the price of this unit you wouldent expect to have so much for so little money.
I managed to pick up a pair for just 225 pound. ive had them for a month and the only things i found that the unit lacked in was bass which unfortuntley was a fairley big disapointment to me but once i put the sand in to the unit it did become more bassy it suprising how a little added weight can change the sound so much but i have seen speakers that produce more bass but if your going for sound quality over bass then these are defintley your speakers the acoustical effects are just heavenly.
here are all the specs...
