Oh help, oh no, it's Gruffalo plates!
The Gruffalo is a favourite in our house and we read the book frequently and were really pleased to find a pack of these paper plates for a recent party. In the story a little brown mouse goes for a walk in the woods where he runs into various animals. These animals include a snake, a fox and an owl and then of course The Gruffalo. The mouse tells all these animals that The Gruffalo's favourite food is something that includes them as the main course so they are all scared of The Gruffalo and so these plates incorporate the phrases from the book and the food in question.
There are 4 different plate styles. There is a yellow plate with a picture of The Gruffalo and the fox with the phrase,"roasted fox!" There is a blue plate with a picture of The Gruffalo and the owl with the phrase, owl ice cream?" There is a red plate with a picture of The Gruffalo and the snake with the phrase, "scrambled snake." The last plate is purple with the mouse telling The Gruffalo that, " my favourite food is Gruffalo crumble!"The illustrations are all the proper illustrations from the book and so I think the plates look very well made and good quality. They have ridges all around the edge and are slightly raised all around the edges so it keeps food on the plate well. They also have a bit of a wax substance on them so they do not really soak up liquids so you can have all types of food on these plates and do not need to worry about them falling apart.
A pack of eight cost in the £3 region which I think was good value and are plates I recommend.
