Advantages: FAST very fast, thrilling, not overly priced compared to other sporty cars capable of such speeds, beautiful. Disadvantages: insurance is just wrong !!!
...no car is invincible but mitsubishi are difinately having a good go at it.
Aside from accelleration of 0 - 62mph in 4.4 seconds (it needs clearence from air traffic controll to set off!!!) (which is unbelievable for a 2.0 engine) the car brakes from 60 - 0mph in 2.9 seconds so the brakes are definately set up to handle the cars immense power.

When my boss came to me and said he was thinking of buying a new car and asked me which of his choices i thought, i new full well which it was to be. The EVO !!!
The big day came and he went to pick it up, i was excited and i wasn't even buying the bloody thing! I heard a faint rumble coming from outside and i looked and there was the glistening silver EVO 6 GSR parked infront of the window.
It is a very mean looking car with a massive front squared valance, lasrge air vents and grills on the bonnet, deep flowing side sills, and the biggest rear spoiler you could imagine on a car.
The inside is quite bland really considdering the money you pay for the car, mass expanse of black dash board plasticky in looks, it does however have air conditioning, climate control, bucket seats, and a rockford fosgate stereo/cd ICE system.
Behind the handbrake on the transmission tunnel is a little button that you can press that sprays cold water on to the main engine block to cool it down as it does get very very hot.
As you're driving along you can see a very definate heat shimmer coming out of the main vent on the bonnet.
Now on to the engine, again quite bland to look at but it's not until you open the throttle that you realise the engine wasn't meant to look good it was made to perform and boy does it do that well.
As you put down the throttle you hear a satisfying roar as the 280Bhp turbo charged engine gets to work, and whilst this is going on the power is so great that you get thrown back in to your seat and held there till you stop.
This is due to the fact that the car is very light and the power is massive, so power to weight ratios are strong, and it is only when you put your foot down that you realise the need for the massive spoilers and sills and valances.
As for handling there is one word to sum it up, UNRIVALED, only until you actually drive this car can you comprehend the way it literally glues itself to the road come sun, rain or snow, when going round a bend the active yaw stability controll lets you know your safe as it sets the cars weight up perfectly to give more grip.
The car is built with safety in mind with driver and passenger airbags as standard, a truly unbeleivable ammount of stopping power from the brakes, side impact protection, front and rear impact protection, obviously no car is invincible but mitsubishi are difinately having a good go at it.
To Sum up the evo is an amazing car to drive and to look at on the outside it is mean stylish and beautiful but the inside is bland, but lets face it when you buy a car like this you don't pay for the interior you pay for the speed, the thrill, the safety to name but a few more important reasons.
Advantages: Great fun car Disadvantages: expensive
...manufacturer dominates with one car: Mitsubishi and the Lancer Evolution.
Various incarnations of the 'Evo' have appeared over the years on the British roads as grey imports but, with the launch of the latest Evolution VI (the most potent version yet), the importers have decided to officially bring in a handful of cars. The Japanese make this model in three different specifications: RS, RS2 and GSR. Both RS versions are intended for competition ... ...£30,995, it has a 2.0-litre, 16-valve turbocharged engine pumping out some 276bhp. That means rest to 60 in 4.4 seconds on the way to 139mph. This is faster than any Ferrari you can buy in every respect other than top speed but should you wish to go quicker still, there's also a UK-only RSX version developing 330bhp and making 60 in 4.2s. Oh, and because it does without some of the creature comforts of the GSR, it actually costs less - £25,995. Alternatively, ...

Advantages: fast, family car Disadvantages: parts can be expensive if an import
When my partner first said he was buying an evo, my first question was "what's one of those then?" to which i was told it was the daddy to the subaru - oh right that all makes sense then!! Of course I was then sat down and shown pictures along with an explanation of how wonderful this car is. This will be the 6th car my partner has had in the last two years, I should be used to it by now, i don't think he'll be happy until he's owned every car ever ... ...have to say i was quite impressed, being a four door saloon it is a big car that the family can sit in comfortably with a huge boot but at the same time it has the power to please the boy racer in my partner when he's on his own and i've never seen so many heads turn as you drive past. The drive is superb and confess that although i said that i never would, i have driven the car and it is very smooth and being a 4 wheel drive it handles really well.

Advantages: The Supreme handling and the Superb force and speed Disadvantages: Very high costs involved while driving this car
...26, has just brought a Mitsubishi Evolution Lancer. Its a lovely deep blue, its not like most though. Basically its not standard. Me and my mate went to his girlfriends 21st birthday. He got slashed and he was meant to stay at my brothers flat. My brother Dave already left. His girlfriend asked me to drive them to Dave's flat and they'd pay for me to get a taxi home.
I was expecting to be driving him home in a small Nissan Micra, but instead the ... ...The next day, I phoned Mitsubishi and asked them to send me out the brochure and specs on this model. The thing that didn't really suprise me but, well, did. was the prices and costs of the car. It does 16.2mpg, which as we all know, he likes his coca-cola. That can be well heavy on the wallet. Its on the road price is £30,995. This car dosen't include many goodies neither. It misses out the cruise control, sun-roof and air conditioning. You'd also ...

Lets put this into perspective shall we . . . You can pay £120K for a new Ferrari 360 Modena and what do you get? 400BHP or so, some cheapo alloys that they claim cost a million pounds, a shoddy looking fibre bodykit, and to be fiar, a pretty nice interior and of course that itallian prancing horse that brings the italian spirit with it . . . but in this country with its weather and speed limits means little - its all a bit gay really!
Or you can ... ...FQ-330 and what do you get? A car that holds the road immsensely and with ease, a 328BHP turbo charged engine, nifty sports alloys and a damn fine and aggressive looking exterior - and to be honest an interior which is comfy and considerably refined considering it is from Japan!
And lets consider - in England what do you want? Italian spirit or pure throurgh bred Japanese grunt that will take you from 0-62mph .1 of a second quicker than that awfully ...

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8 - FQ330.......... If your looking for something pretty special, which really in money terms isnt a lot compared to performance of cars in this category, its good value for money.... For the initial outlay for the car anyway.
The FQ330 option, is named this due to the performance of the car. 330bhp. There was also 2 other options, the FQ300 ( with 300bhp ) and later on the Mitsubish Lancer Evolution 8 MR FQ400 ( ... ...in at approx 3.5k revs. Similar performace car would be a Subaru WRX STi ( which is also actually more expensive than the Evo ) However there seem to be a lot of Subarus, or should I say, 'Scooby Doo's' out on the road these days, so the Evo is an alternative to be that little bit different. You wont see swarms of them on a normal day, out and about, where as you will now see plenty of people driving around in a Subaru.
Pros:
-Almost supercar-like ...

Advantages: sporty, eye-catching appearance Disadvantages: rotary engine - unlike most other sports cars
I had to babysit one an RX7 for a friend of mine while he was out of town. Knowing my liking for street racing, he gave me consent to use it anyway, while I got the customising done for him.
When this car was first made, I believe it was aimed for the businessman who wanted something to drive that was a little "cooler" than everyone else, with a little "kick" and style - well, Mazda achieved that in this car. However, because of the discontinuation of this model and the introduction of the RX8, this car has been relegated to and is being sought after by street racers, who just find it to be a very good mergeance of style and power.
However, I must admit that I am a fan of Nissan (300ZX, 350Z, 200SX, Skyline) and Mitsubishi (every model of the LancerEvolution, Eclipse and the 3000GT), and rotary engines are new to me. By ...
