Lets put this into perspective shall we . . . You can pay £120K for a new Ferrari 360 Modena and what do you get? 400BHP or so, some cheapo alloys that they claim cost a million pounds, a shoddy looking fibre bodykit, and to be fiar, a pretty nice interior and of course that itallian prancing horse that brings the italian spirit with it . . . but in this country with its weather and speed limits means little - its all a bit gay really!
Or you can pay around £24-28K on a second hand Misti Evo 8 FQ-330 and what do you get? A car that holds the road immsensely and with ease, a 328BHP turbo charged engine, nifty sports alloys and a damn fine and aggressive looking exterior - and to be honest an interior which is comfy and considerably refined considering it is from Japan!
And lets consider - in England what do you want? Italian spirit or pure throurgh bred Japanese grunt that will take you from 0-62mph .1 of a second quicker than that awfully expensive Ferrari!
In the UK you want a car with unbeatable pulling power - 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds - becuase lets face it you dont need top speed unless you are going on the german autobahns because the grandad drivers and speed limits of Britain will keep you peddling at between 40 and 80 all the damn time - so acceleration is key when looking for a sports car! And the Evo has it in bucket loads!
A top speed of 150MPH is definately nothing to laugh about anyway - you know youll never max it yourself - no bottle probably! :D
Not only does it have bags of pulling prowess and a decent top speed - but it has 4 seats so if your a speed demon with a baby on the way - you can still have a fast family car! Not that I would condone driving fast with a kiddy! You only get two seats for the price of 100 in a Ferrari!
Ever been to wales?? Ever been to wales in an evo? If you havnt then you havent lived! If your lucky enough to keep away from the roads that are being watched by the beady eyes of the law and you could be flying through some mountain winding roads without any worry of flying off the cliff - the evo won't let you go anywhere but between those pearly white line - its top of the handling tree and I would challenge you to find another car to beat it.
I would say that the handling is so good, that at times it is too good and you will find yourself wishing it was slightly less controlled so you could have a bit more fun - but i wouldnt know it!
If Tommi Mackkinen can take one to the podeum of a world rally championship meet then why cant you take it off road on a rally track day? Ive done one and it was fantatic! The local rally driver taught me how to really control and tame the beast on the winding roads and it makes a huge difference to my confidence behind the wheel! I would recomend it to anyone!
This is one safe safe car . . . my dad crashed one on the road at 90mph and span 360 4 times and hit many hedges and stepped out seconds later with only a bit of whip lash and a scratch on the arm - the engine was left 50yards back down the road - could you ask for more from your car???
Got £120K in the bank and want something fast, sexy, eyecatching, attention seeking and downright good fun - Buy an Evo 8 or 9 and put a deposit down on a new house!

Advantages: FAST very fast, thrilling, not overly priced compared to other sporty cars capable of such speeds, beautiful. Disadvantages: insurance is just wrong !!!
