For the last 2.5 years this phone has been everywhere with me, from school, to work to France to Italy (twice) and to university. It is the best value item I have ever purchased, can you name another item that you would take everywhere with you and use almost every day? No? For a girl in her late teens a mobile phone became a important, I can phone home for a life, my mum can call me at the weekends while I am away at university and it makes me feel safer if I am anywhere alone to feel the slight lump in my pocket to know that I have my phone with me. And I don't think I could have coped the 4 months over the summer away from my boyfriend without the the beep of my phone and the messages coming in every few hours!
So to the phone, small light, rounded body with a little ariel and a large screen, fits easily into your hand or handbag!. It has many features, such as about 20 ring tones (however it cannot recieve ring tones or logos or program more into it) It has a large phone book, both on the sim and on the phone memory, It can hold 10 text messages at a time, a disadvantage is that it doesn't tell you when the other person recieves the text a nice feature that Nokia phones do. It is a WAP phone with simple to use browser, allowing you to play games, look for local restaurants, supermarkets and other services as well as checking you e-mails but at 10p per minute you don't really want to be using it too much. This phone also has a feature where you can store 10 draft text messages and 10 stupid little note things that doesn't raelly have enough space for anything useful! Games, push and reshape quite interesting nothing too special and a currency converter
A useful feature is that the phone has two hot keys which can be assigned to any feature. The default was sms and Internet but mine kept connecting to the Internet in my bag, so I changed the left key to phone lock.
When I bought it it had like a rubber case around the outside of it, you can buy these in lots of different colours but they split quite easily, and make the phone look a little bit stupid. There are also differnt accessories you can buy like hands free sets and flaps to cover the numbers.
The phone is easy to use as it has a menu with pictures used to show what everything does, navigation is very easy and even a child could use it.
Reception is very good and very clear even in the depth of Wales! and when in France and Italy I could recieve messages however the last time I was in Italy i could also send messages however that was very expensive.
Charging the phone once every about 3 days seemed to work well for me but I reckon it you used it less that I did you can no doubt get away with charging it over night once a week.
I must have used my phone a million times for text messages and hours of calls, dropped it got it wet done everything to it that you shouldn't but it never ever broke. Towards the end the space button for text messaging had worn out and you had to press it hard and more than once to get it to work, this was after 2.5 years of constant use and remember the phone was only £49.99 to start with.
When I replaced my phone I actually had to pay almost twice as much to get a phone with the same features. My phone was on O2
2p a minute at weekend
10p a minute after 6pm
30p a minute during the day
45p a minute to another mobile
This was an excellent phone brought out well before its time, at a very good price I loved my little phone and felt quite bad trading it in for £10 when I bought my new one. It was a sad day!
Advantages: Cheap light looks good excellent battery time hands free facility works really well in the middle of a table so several people can enter into a teleconference scenario Disadvantages: Prone to intermittency if knocked about especially the antenna connection keylock does not prevent other keys from lighting up your pocket and draining the battery
I like this phone. It is small and stylish but it
lacks mechanical robustness so you need to take
care not to drop it. The phone is aesthetically pleasing and works fine
apart from the occasional intermittency, which I
now seem to have resolved (see below). There is no facility to load your own custom tunes on the phone, but I find the 'oriental' ring tone
quite pleasing. Not being an expert ‘texter’ I rarely ... ...usual shortcut features
found on more expensive phones. I have used the WAP capability a few times but
since WAP is of benefit to neither man nor beast I
tend now to leave this well alone as it is also expensive. I don’t believe in line-rentals and dodgy contracts
(Hey, Wycliffe honey...)and will never entertain the
idea, so for £49.99 on 'pay-as-you-go', this is a
good budget phone which has served me well.
Snap-on ...

Advantages: wap, small, sexy, games Disadvantages: fiddly buttons
I got the Trium Mars for Christmas and cost me a mere £35, which I considered a very good deal. There are many features of this small phone that make it good, which I will now go into. WAP This has to be one of the great plus points of this phone. At only £35 (on OPEN) this was the cheapest WAP phone available as far as I am aware, and I think it still is. Although much the hype about WAP was completely overstated, it can actually be quite useful ... ...problems using WAP on this phone. It even has a bookmark facility to bookmark up to ten of your favourite sites. You also get to choose whether to download pictures or not, which is a useful option when you are simply looking for something quickly and dont want the page logos. On this subject, I found that the screen was very easy to read, and the resolution made it easy to make out pictures clearly. Although WAP is a bit gimmicky, I found it useful ...

Advantages: Small, light, plenty of features Disadvantages: Dodgy user manual
Trium might not be the trendiest of phone people, but they certainly build good phones. I've always had an aversion to the mobile phone, considering it to be an intrusion into my life - I always thought that if I wanted to make/receive calls, I'd be at home able to use the landline. But Mother wasn't convinced, and got me a little phone about a month ago. The phone has everything that all the other big name phones around at the moment have, but it ... ...rivals, most of which are a darn lot more expensive. It's got all the usual phone book stuff, two more original games than most, the superbly fantastic and brilliant T9, plenty of tunes to pick from and of course the WAP features. WAP phones were, in my opinion, badly marketed. Ask Sir Clive Sinclair about the value of marketing your product at the right audience! The WAP features are fantastic. There's all the info you want when you're out and about ...

Advantages: Small, light and stylish. Offers many great features. Disadvantages: The Internet access is very expensive.
When my daughter very recently had her Nokia 3310 stolen, I needed to get her a replacement phone. I did not want to buy another expensive phone in case the same thing happened again.
After looking on the Vodafone web page, my daughter decided that she would really like to have the Trium Mars. This phone is available on pay as you go, all calls and smartstep and priced at £49.99.
Last week myself, my husband and a couple of friends went on a beer ... ...I noticed the Trium Mars on sale for £30, at that price I could not resist buying it.
When we got the phone back home, we found that my daughters sim card would not work in the Trium, and as we could not take it back I decided to have the phone instead. After close inspection I found this phone offered many of the great features that you normally find in the more expensive phones.
So what does this very small and stylish phone have to offer I hear ...

Advantages: Very Cheep and has features that you woulnd find on more expensive models Disadvantages: The keys are a little too spongy, and no snooze feature on alarm
I decided to buy a cheep Pay as you go phone as my Nokkia 5110 was stolen at the weekend and I thought for the £40 it cost I may as well buy a Pay and Go package till the insurance came through from my contract phone.
I only really stumbled across this phone by accident, you see my contract
phone was stolen at the weekend. when I was told it would take 3 weeks to
get my insurance money through I thought I may as well buy a cheep Pay and
Go phone ... ...phone was, I purchased the Trium Mars through the BT Cell net Pay and Go package, for only £39.99 (but I do believe that the prices will be rising soon). It may be only 2 years ago since I got my Old Nokkia 5110, but phones have

read some of the opinions on Ciao about the Nokia 3310 and it sounds as though this is a good deal if you are going down the road of a line rental phone – the monthly rental on this is £11.99 per month.
As it happens a monthly rental phone isn’t appropriate for me, as I only need mine so that my parents can get in touch with me when I am busy on the Internet. Hence the fact that I have bought a MitsubishiTriumMars on Pay and Go from BT Cellnet (see my op if you’re interested)
The phone number on the leaflet is 0700 5300 444 - reference FM 3461 or you can order online at www.freemobile4u.co.uk.
By the way I have purposely not described the phone here as it would not be fair since I do not own one - this opinion is purely to pass comment on the offer. There are plenty of opinions on this phone on Ciao for anyone to ...

Inside Mars funky, stylish exterior is all the technology you'll need to keep your social life on track. There is WAP, for the mobile Internet and e-mail. And Tegic T9 predictive text input for speedy typing. There is even hands free built in, so that you can make calls without lifting your phone or headset.
Brilliant phone customisation, Good size screen with 65K colours (STN screen technology aside), Navigation system, Downloadable Games/Apps, Range of connectivity options
Casing attracts fingerprints and smudges, Hard to view in sunny outdoor conditions, 2MB memory maybe too little, Back and Cancel buttons maybe confusing, Quick Access to WAP services can be costly if accidently pressed. (*)
