Bear in mind that this would be my first ever car purchase and that we had 'lost' a Micra by not putting down a 'holding' deposit quickly enough. We therefore turned to Mitubishi and this time I did put a 'holding' deposit on a car on Wed 9th August to give my wife + I time to decide by Sat 12th. In the interim, she found a car more to her liking on Ebay so I emailed Lindhill on Friday 11th to tell them. I also foned on Saturday morning to ask for a refund of the deposit as the Ebay auction wouldn't end for another week and I wasn't going ahead with the purchase *until* I knew we'd lost the online bid. I then received an extremely abusive call from the Sales Manager telling me I *had* to buy their car as they'd spent time letting my wife have a test-drive and explaining all the details (which I already knew) which took all of a quarter of an hour. But he actually took 20 mins to harangue me on the phone for bidding for an 'import' model from an 'untrustworthy' source. He also said he'd taken his model off sale for my sake for 4 days (in fact, it was 2, at most, as I checked on Auto Trader's website),thereby telling me a blatant lie. He also said he 'might' refund me my deposit. This is despite the fact that the salesman had specifically stated that it was a 'no-obligation, fully refundable for any reason' deposit. His whole attitude was overbearing, rude and obnoxious, blaming me, in effect, for losing 'his' dealership time and money.
The funny thing is, I was very interested in buying the vehicle and expected my wife to agree if she was unsuccessful with the Ebay bid. There is, of course, no way that I would deal with Lindhill again after this incident. I sincerely doubt that Mitsubishi dealers in Japan act with the aggressive, bullying tactics of these Essex wide-boys they see fit to employ. They are in stark contrast to the excellent, polite and friendly Toyota and Nissan dealers we also had test drives with.
Advantages: You can fit seven people into the car Disadvantages: I don't like the new model
We purchased a New Mitsubishi Spacewagon, in 1997, it has been a very good car, and we purchased it on an option plan, where you pay balance after 3 years, Change for new model or give car back to garage. The old Spacewagon we bought had a really useful rear seat, when not in use it goes into the floor, leaving a flat loading space. Mitsubishi decided to change that and the new model no longer goes into floor, you have got to physically remove and ...

Advantages: Looks, Sound, Power, Driver/Passenger comfort, Disadvantages: Some parts can be pricey, weak link rods on front suspension
-roads are fun especially when in manual mode. Get the car up to 3500rpm and the engine changes in to the mivec mode, switch to manual shift and the fun begins, this is where the engine develops the recognisable growl that you may hear on occassions, drop a gear and hit the pedal and a surge runs through the engine developing into a very quick take off...boy racers in their maxed Corsa's/ Puntos cant cope and neither can a lot of other similar coupes... (remember car of the year in Japan and used for racing aswell with very few mods)
The gear box in this model is semi - automatic with mitsubishi technology called INVECS, basically what it means is that when driving the car in manual the car will "remember" when you change gear at a certain RPM and then apply this to the gear change when it is driven in automatic. So, the car will drive in auto ...

Advantages: Looks, reliability, great value, seriously fun Disadvantages: Expensive to run
I was a little weary buying an import car at first and heard all sorts of horror stories about imports. However there is a dedicated FTO owners club which you can join for £10 a year.
There is always someone who can offer advise and supply spares if required. Mitsubishi also support this car at their UK dealers, and can get any parts and service this car as required!!
I have had the car for 6 months now and have nothing but praise. For £5,700 I got a 2.0l, 24V, V6, ABS, Traction Control, Climate control, all electric's, the works, Providing these cars are
serviced as required you will have no problems.
The handling is excellent, you get 0-60 in just under 7 seconds and the tiptronic gearbox is superb and the modification potential is limited only by your finances.
This car is a real head turner also and I've lost track ...

Advantages: Great looks, safety, great for countryside, ?space? Disadvantages: NON-economic, expensive, depreciates quickly
thought, I'm practically in the middle of nowhere, I need a 4 wheel drive, that would make me popular with the posh neighbors, wouldn't it?
So you do it, doing a bit of light background research, after all, your just trying to enjoy the Summer Sunshine, but you need to find you dream car along the way.
I decided on getting a superb Mitsubishi Shogun, wonderful car, I read, great to drive I heard. So I started to scavenge around the local Private Dealers, after all, I've got a bit of cash, and for that touch of perfection, I'd rather have perfection in life rather than a hell life of rusting nuts, so I got out, on my mystery search, to find "this" car.
Luckily, just a short walk away from my house, I find a dealer, who's got 1 Mitsubishi Shogun in stock, and its good value he says!
"Oh yes, I love the car, my favorite you see, I can't be ...
