As teen magazines go, Mizz is one of the better ones. It is aimed at the younger end of the teenage market, and this is reflected in the contents of the magazine. Rather than focussing on boys and sex, like most teen mags, Mizz wants to promote happy, healthy individual teenage girls. This is a good message to put across, and the articles in the magazine are interesting and suitable for the age they are aimed at. There are fashion pages with appropriate suggestions, beauty sections which do not try to make girls look tarty, and stuff about celebrities, music and soaps. So it's not everyone's cup of tea, but there will be something in Mizz to suit most young teen girls. The mag is suitable for girls aged from about 9 or 10, as there is no sexual content, although boys are a central part of the magazine. Mizz will help girls to be friends with boys, rather than how to become their girlfriend. Although I have not read Mizz for some years now, I would recommend it to younger girls wanting a fun read.

This was my favourite when I was 11 - I subscribed for several years until it began to go down hill and became 'tamer' - I remember an early issue devoted almost entirely to sex and contraception - like More almost.
Advantages: Cringe, Problems pages, plenty of things to read, reasonably priced, qood free gift Disadvantages: Too much advertising in magazine, true stories are quite boring
