advertised all over F1 motor sport and have heard good things about this oil from family and friends, so I had no hesitation in picking up this product and paying the £19.99. Luckily I know how to change the oil in my car,so that saved paying for a mechanic in a garage. Since I have changed the engine oil I have noticed that the car runs smoother. SUMMARY Well after all my research into the different types of motor oil, I found that Halfords had the best range of engine oils and prices to match. I am very pleased with the high performance 'Mobil Super S 10w-40 semi synthetic oil' I picked at £19.99 (20% of all motor oil at Halfords) and have definitely noticed an improvement in my smoother/ quieter Citroen ZX . *Mobil 1 cleared for take off . . .

Advantages: Economic, readily available.
Disadvantages: May not be the one for your engine.

* Mobil 1, sounds like U.S. President's plane! . . . The brand of oil known as MOBIL 1 - 15W/50, is a non synthetic or traditional mineral based motor oil. Wikipedia says, This oil is described as :- "Mineral oil or liquid petrolatum is a by-product in the distillation of petroleum to produce gasoline. It is a transparent, colourless oil composed mainly of alkanes (typically 15 to 40 carbons) and cyclic paraffins, related to white petrolatum. Mineral oil is a substance of relatively low value, and it is produced in very large quantities. Mineral oil comes in light and heavy grades, and is often found in drug stores." mineral oil for newer engines, but not always recommended for older engines. Synthetic oil has now caught on, and has actually been made by Mobil (exxonMobil) since 1974. This oil is recommended by most of the major car manufacturers. 5W/30? What does that mean? Right, it is perfectly simple:- 5 - is the viscosity at low temperatures. W - means it complies with the requirements for winter conditions. 30 - is the viscosity at high temperatures. So now you know, Gents you may now explain this to your mates in the pub and get street cred, Ladies, you could do the same but I would recommend you stick to talking about kittens or knitting!
