Jibber-Jabber-Jabra, just gotta have ya

Advantages: Good call quality, battery life and keeps you legal
Disadvantages: Can't but help look a bit daft behind your ear

...Vodafone offered me a free Jabra BT205 when I upgrade my phone a couple of years back, it was difficult to say no, and I very soon came to use the thing all the time. The 205 was a decent little headset and something I used frequently when going on longer journeys (which I do almost every weekend during the winter to play hockey). It was on one such outing that I managed to lose my little 205, so just before Christmas I bought a Jabra BT500v. Not ...
...any of the instructions for the 205 and they look very similar in pictures online (having googled 'Jabra') and I assumed the one I lost was the exact same thing. In fact they look completely different! FIRST IMPRESSIONS AND SET-UP When it arrived I charged it up, paired it with my SEK800i with no trouble, and it sat on the shelf for a couple of days until I came to use it. The very different look compared to the 205 still didn't really register ...

affordable comfort

Advantages: Inexpensive
Disadvantages: if strap broke you have to throw it away

...an affordable one was the Jabra BT 125. I was rather impressed with this as it is light weight, and has all the functions needed. Last number redial, voloume and reversable ear piece for either ear, bbbut the most important feature was it was a comfortable fit. Instead of a protuding ear piece that fits into your ear, the Jabra sits up against your ear, giving better comfort, and being a driver who has the blue tooth in all day, it was a pleasure ...

Should like Motorola H17 Hedset

Advantages: Read the review
Disadvantages: Nothing that is loud

...realized I really need one. Motorola H17, was my decision because it was reasonably cheap and really very tiny. What impressed me most was the comfort and the weight. Enough light so that you don’t feel something sitting up there. If I remember correctly Motorola’s Bluetooth headset success story started with H12. They followed it up with H15 (some friends said its performance was pathetic). I was a bit cockeyed about the Motorola H17, it looks so ...
...Moto’s CrystalTalk noise canceling technology. Motorola H17 has another very useful plus which gives you a voice prompt so that you know if the call is in muted mode or it requires charging. Yah they do help, nice highs I must say. When I first saw it I was wondering how could a Bluetooth headset be so small. It was easy to discover the trick, when not in use it can be folded with a flip switch which gives you the option of a flip switch boom mic. ...

Motorola H17 heaset, excellent build quality, neat features

Advantages: Robust, good quality sound, neat features, easy setup
Disadvantages: micro usb chargers not yet widespread, twice the price of other headsets

It's been a couple of years since my last foray into bluetooth headsets, back then I bought a cheap unbranded thing with poor sound quality which fell apart. So I have relied on in car kits or just not answering the phone. I was a little apprehensive about what to get so I went into the Carphone Warehouse and asked. They were very helpful, recommending the H17 which was half price in their January sale at £30. It came in a very showy presentation ...
...life became easy. There was the headset, a 'micro usb' mains charger and some instructions. I put it onto charge and the charge light went green within 5 minutes indicating a full charge. Flip down the microphone to switch on and the unit talks to you issuing instructions on how to pair with your phone, pairing was complete in under a minute. The unit comes with 3 ear hooks and two ear adapters, I found the reversible (either ear) one already fitted ...

Designer Bluetooth

Advantages: Light weight, excellent audio quality, handy charging carry-case, stylish, simple to operate
Disadvantages: Cost

My employer has recently started using VOIP through softphones on laptops in an effort to reduce costs and increase flexibility. As part of the roll-out, everyone was awarded with one of those analogue headsets that runs around the back of the head and fits behind your ears, complete with helicopter-pilot style microphone. Wearing glasses all the time, this headset soon became uncomfortbale as it interfered with the arms of my glasses. PLus the 2m ...
...the whole thing was way too big to fit in my already over-crowded laptop bag. I needed something smaller, that was more comfortable and that didn't have any wires. I realised that I needed a bluetooth headset. A quick scan of the market showed prices from about £15 up to £90, quite a wide range for something that has basically the same function! After considering all the points in the range, I opted for the Plantronice Discovery 975, tempted by it's ...
