very good mobile
Review of Ericsson A1018s by
callas
Advantages: reliable
Disadvantages: none
I used this mobile for 2 years and only had to stop when it fell in some water and the screen stopped working.
It is a nice handset, quite large and solid. I found it very reliable and easy to use.
The buttons are quite large, which is very convenient.
Some people did comment that it is a very large phone but for me it was fine. There is a choice of rings, all very simple, no fancy tunes like "Macarena " or anything like that.
I was on Vodafone ...

No use as a mobile phone
Review of NEC DB-2000 by
Birdynumnum
Advantages: Nice design
Disadvantages: Weak and worst reception ever
This was the second phone I ever bought many years ago and it is the worst phone I have ever had.
Lets start with the plus point, its design is great and its large buttons means that even a lardarse like me with my chubby sausage fingers has no trouble what so ever dialing numbers and writing text messages and its one of the few phones that actually look just like a phone but this is where the positives stop. To use this pile of crap as a phone ... ...mobile network antena on a bright clear sunny day and you wouldn't get a signal on this piece of crud posing as a mobile phone, even extending it flimsy antenna does absolutly nothing and the rare occasions that you do get a signal and you dont lose it by moving the phone to your ear, the audio quality mixed with weak reception means that it sounds like you are talking to a robot.
Finally theres the fact that its weaker than bread sticks. The idea ...

It used to be tops, but now..
Review of Ericsson GF768 by
matt___r60
Advantages: Range of colours, small, light.
Disadvantages: See above!
...a one-line text function which means that we miss out on the funny picture texts that all our Nokia friends have. It also means that texts take longer to read!
My advice would be to buy a newer Ericsson and hopefully these problems will not occur on them! ...

out of date phone that turns itself off
Review of Ericsson PF768 by
Everybody
Advantages: Was good during its time
Disadvantages: Too big, one line display, switches itself off
...people know about this, but Ericsson phones which have flips like to turn themselves off if U carry them around, this is so annoying.
One thing I also dislike about this phone is it's small display, it is absolutely ludricour, even at that time, and I think the inactive flip does it no favours, though personally I like phones with flips.
Also I have no idea why there is a big aerial that gets in the way and the battery is only ni-mh, not Li-ION, ...

A good quality, reliable handset
Review of NEC DB-500 by
ian1
Advantages: see opinion
Disadvantages: lacks features
...the prowd owner of a NEC DB500 now for over 18 months now, from day 1 I have always been impressed by it.
Yes, it may not be full of nonsence features, there is no picture messaging, no call vibrate, and no fancy ringtones.
The phone is manufactured to an extraordinarily high standard, there are no rattles, the battery fits the phone perfectly and it is very ergonomic in its design.
Another major factor is when the phone rings in the car you don't ... ...large clock display and the network coverage indicator is also large. Icons accross the bottom of the screen alert you to SMS, VMAIL, etc.
Another feature of the NEC handsets is that the handsfree kits and charges fit ALL phones.
In brief, an excellent, value for money phone!!! ...
