We are both on the same network (t-mobile) and both had the same phone (nokia 8310) but where i work there is someone on every network and although most people have nokias there are a few samsungs, sagems, and motorolas knocking about. I myself now have a sagem with an external arial thinking this may improve the signal. I was wrong by the way!.
After being cut off from a call one night for the 3rd time and having wandered from room to room looking for the best place for a signal while all the time Becca (my workmate) was sat chatting away quite happily with no signal loss I later commented that it wasn't fair how her signal stayed and mine didn't.
"oh, I've got one of those boosters in my phone" She said
What boosters??
She slipped the back off her phone and lifted out the battery and under it was a gold coloured sticker that looked a bit like a circuit board. She explained that you just stick it on and it boosts your signal up to 3 times. Well it certainly seemed to work. So where could I buy one?
She explained her Dad had got them from a tv infomercial and had paid £9.99 for a pack of 2 but that was ages ago!
I hadn't seen them in any shops nor on any infomecails so I scoured e bay. Not that I needed to scour much there are literally hundreds for sale on there ranging from 10 for £1 (which I missed out on because I couldn't get logged in in time and there was only a ouple minutes to go when i started looking) to £10 each! From the pictures they all look the same so i can see why they vast price difference.
Anyway I found a pack of 4 for £1.30 inc P + P on buy it now ( no problems with being out bid) and received them a couple of days later.
On the packaging it says it's like having a four foor antenna on your phone. It also states it is suitable for any mobile phone, reduces static in lifts, tunnels buildings and more.

Basically you remove your battery, wipe the battery compartment clean with a dry cloth, peel the backing of the booster which is about 2cm x 1cm and paper thin, this is the only tricky bit as you have to make sure you don't touch the cicuit and leave fingerprints on it, they recommend using tweezers, you then stick the booster onto the phone making sure you don't touch and cicuit boards or metal contacts. Replace the battery and hey presto, done!!
I didn't notice any difference at first as I normaly get a good signal anyway but I had to go into work yesterday morning as a few of us were going on a first aid course and were being picked up there so i had a quick wander around and sure enough i had a signal in most places around the building. I work in an residential care home on nights so normally would sit in the conservatory I used to get between none and 1 bar signal but when i tried yesterday i had 3 bars (mine goes up to 4 bars) so that is a real improvement.
If you have a poor signal genarally or even if you don't you never know when you might get stuck somewhere without a signal and for what you can get these for and how simple and inobtrusive they are I would recommend everyone has one fitted to every mobile phone.
Advantages: It gives you hope whilst you wait for it to be delivered. Disadvantages: Delivery. Ooh, and it didn't work for me.
...this little product, then surely mobile phone makers would employ this 'technology' in some form - creating phones with better signal capacity, and that cope well in weak signal areas is the holy grail of mobile phone production. But, I am an optimist, and I fell for the sales hype. Also, it is only a few pounds, so thought it was worth a go. Maybe there really is some undiscovered technological worth to this product?
My Sony Ericssons were out ... ...increase of signal on the mobile phone. It can increase it, even if it's just half a bar, but because it's half a bar, it just doesn't show on the phone. A rather convenient claim. Another part of the sales patter: after long paragraphs of hard selling the virtues of this products, is, 'it might not work for you, but for such a small outlay, it's worth a go". Again, another classic sales tactic. Indeed, this is what this product seems to rely on, ...

Advantages: Easy to install, noticable improvement Disadvantages: None!
...i ever saw it! A Mobile Phone Signal Booster is a relatively small (usually about 1cm x 2cm) little sticky back golden circuit. ** What does it actually do?**
Stating the obvious - the Mobile Phone Signal Booster boosts you mobile phone reception. It reduces the static and improves signal strenth where it is limited, such as remote areas, enclosed spaces or in tunnels.
:: Before you install the Mobile Phone Signal Booster, make sure you note the ... ...dirt that would prevent the Mobile Phone Signal Booster from being applied properly.
Try and apply the booster on the flattest part of your phone, near the centre of the phone as possible but avoiding covering your sim card. Be sure to place the booster with the "top ^" sign facing in the right direction. The booster is less likely to work if you install this incorrectly.
Fit the battery back and place the back of your phone in place.
Whilst doing ...

Quick review of Mobile phone Internal Signal Booster
These things simply do not work. I have tested them on a range of phones and they have made absolutley no improvement to the signal reception.
They sell because they're cheap and people think it's worth a punt at the price, but we're all just wasting money whilst someone is pocketing a tidy sum - probably the same people who write the rave reviews for this piece of trash. ...

Advantages: Increases signal up to 3x.Easy to install, less droped calls Disadvantages: None
The signal booster is a small device which is waffer thin so is no problem to fit in any phone .All you need to do is take your battery out and stick the signal booster in the compartment then replace battery.(simple)
I noticed the differance the first time i used the phone ,the signal was showing 4/5 instead of the normal 1/5 and the sound increased too.My brother couldent stop going on about the fact he could here the other voice from 30+feet ... ...get dropped this is a must . Every one i know now has one of these in thier mobiles and some spare.
The cell phone booster is a passive device designed to capture stray radiation in the body of the phone and re-radiates the signal to improve the phones performance.
For this device to work there must be some sort of signal to boost so if you have no signal whatsoever this will not help you.
As it states on the front of the packet
"ITS LIKE HAVING ...

Quick review of Mobile phone Internal Signal Booster
I have tried using these on several different mobile phones and they offer no improvement at all. Everybody else who has tried them that I have talked to agrees so I can only assume that the 5 start reviews that keep getting given are only done by the people who are selling them. I bought them because I thought it was worth the risk at such a low price but believe me it isn't. Stay well away! ...
