BRILLIANT
Review of The WAG's Diary - Alison Kervin by PammySammy

Advantages: hysterical, wonderful. I love Tracie Martin
Disadvantages: none

...because I thought it was the funniest book I had ever read. I liked Bridget Jones a lot, and I thought the Shopaholic books were funny, but not like this. This character is so funny and there were so many jokes and daft things happening that it must have taken years to write. I keep laughing about the things I read in it like when she got her car extensions caught in the car door, and was running alongside the car as it was driving off, banging on ...
...on her Nan. It wasn't the usual sort of humour - this was roaring with laughter humour that had me crying as I was reading. I can't imagine how hard it must be to do that. I mean even when I watch Vicar of Dibley or something like that I don't laugh as much as I did at this. Really funny stuff. I would say go and buy it it will definietly make your day. ... The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
Review of The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold by ghil

Advantages: Engrossing, involving, you can't put it down once you start
Disadvantages: Getting it back when you loan it out

...started reading I couldn't stop, the story is so compelling. I found myself with tears in my eyes while reading it, the story was so moving. This is such an unusual story, so worth spending time curled up in your chair and letting the story just unfold. My daughters both borrowed my book and read it, I waited several months and re-read it, still finding enjoyment even though I knew what was happening but letting the story engulf me again. I recommend ... Read review

La - La Land
Review of This Book Will Save Your Life - A.M. Homes by MALU

Advantages: an entertaining read on a serious subject
Disadvantages: told in the present tense

...in the western world about this subject (I doubt that Hindus and Buddhists bother what with their belief in rebirth), if an author uses this plot, they must wrap it into a captivating story to make readers want to read it. What has A. M. Homes made of it? The story is set in Los Angeles, aka la-la land, this is not just any setting because a story has to be set somewhere, LA and what it stands for play a vital part in the story, more of this later. ...

A beautiful heart-warmer
Review of The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger by fionad86

Advantages: Lovely story, very moving
Disadvantages: Quite a sad story.......wouldnt advise it if you are feeling down

One of the best books I have read in my entire life. This book has been handed around all the females in my family, and yes only the females, this is definately a womans story. Having said that, I found Henry a far more interesting character than Clare (both the main characters of this book) and even right until the end I found myself identifying more with him. This is a real emotional story and I defy anyone not to feel moved by it in some way. ...
...the final chapter. It is also a very lovely story with lots to smile about. I especially enjoyed the descriptions of Clares behaviour as a teenager as I know that is exactly how a teenage girl would behave, and im glad the writer didnt skim around that. I think this is an excellent choice if you are looking for something to talk about with your daughter/mother etc ... Read review

Love me, love my friends!
Review of Still Thinking Of You - Adele Parks by kingfisher111

Advantages: light but interesting read
Disadvantages: none!

Before you get into this review I have to warn you that 'Still Thinking of You' is a really light, easy read and definitely comes under the category of 'chick lit'! Having said this though, if this is your sort of read (even if only occasionally) then I would definitely recommend it! I had already read a couple of books by Adele Parks - both of which were very enjoyable, and I was definitely not disappointed by this book either. At the start of ...
...known each other long but already know that they are both 'the one' as far as the other is concerned! Rich has been down on one knee and the date for the wedding is set! All set for a happy ending then... There is only one problem which Tash is as yet unaware of - Rich's extremely close knit group of friends who have all known each other since university days. Right from the first meeting Tash is made to feel like the outsider - excluded from their ... Read review
