"You...don't want me....well that changes things....a lot."

Advantages: Fabulous book! Amazing storyline and characters!
Disadvantages: The film trailer ruined the book for me by giving away the main storyline in 2 seconds of clip!!!

New Moon: Stephenie Meyer "Blood pulsed from my arm as I looked into the eyes of six suddenly ravenous vampires! Introduction I read Twilight after hearing much acclaimed reviews about it by friends and review sites. I wasn’t expecting much from it, as Sci-Fi isn’t my thing, but when I started reading the book, I got really into it and couldn’t put it down, so I asked my husband to buy me the other books for Christmas, and begged him ...
...need to read before reading New Moon as it sets up the story of Edward and Bella. Twilight is about a 17 year old girl Isabella (Bella) Swan, who moved to Forks, a tiny town in Washington, USA, to live with her father, Charlie, when her mother re-marries. Her life takes a huge change when she meets Edward Cullen and his strange, but beautiful family. She soon discovers the Cullen’s secret…they’re vampires. Edward is crazy about Bella and she is madly ...

Carmen Reid - An OK Read

Advantages: Good for escapism, light-hearted, fun
Disadvantages: Not the best of it's kind, others do chick-lit better

...mulit-tasker extraordinaire and she is the central character in Carmen Reid's 'The Personal Shopper'. I've never read anything by Reid before and I nearly didn't read this after I noticed the appallingly cheesy tagline on the back of the book - 'A fabulous read. A sexy read. A Carmen Reid'. But I decided to overlook this minor 'flaw' and give it a go - after all, you should NEVER judge a book by its cover! Annie Valentine is the single mother of ...
...and re-inventing her clients through the medium of clothes and she's damn good at her job. It seems though, that she is so good at her job that she leaves no time for her personal life. Will she find time in between solving everyone else's problems and creating her mark on the fashion world, to find the perfect man? This book is a shopper's dream. Everything about it relates to shopping in some way or another and as a result, it is the escapism that ...

a story from death

Advantages: Different view point
Disadvantages: can be awkward to read

The book thief I had heard so many good reviews about this book and kept seeing it be on the 'book of the week' shelf at my local library that I decided it was about time I read it to see what the fuss was all about. I didn't have any expectations about the story except that I was hoping it would be one of them books which leaves you thinking about it long after finishing it. Only a few books have this effect on me and so I knew it was a bit ...
...hoping that this would be the effect it had on me. Setting The setting of this story is in Nazi Germany during the war. It is based near Munich in a run down area with the family living in one of the poorest streets in the area which is a case of say the name of the street and everyone knows where you're talking about and how poor it is. Plot The story is told from a different point of view. It is told by Death. Death follows the ...

DON'T give me Marshamallows for Breakfast!

Advantages: I got the book from the Library
Disadvantages: Weak storyline and dull characters

After reading another of Dorothy Koomson's novels "My Best Friend's Girl" - a book which I very much enjoyed after it MADE me want to read more, even after crying when reading it! - I decided to try Koomson's new offering.....''Marshmallows for Breakfast''. What’s the Story? The premise featured on the back of the book offers me hints of an undisclosed secret/scandal that ruins somebody’s life in a very dramatic way - it hints of some kind ...

...dad bought me this book, Wedding Season, for my birthday last month and I was thrilled as I had been eyeing it up in the shops for a few weeks before then anyway! My to-read pile is getting ever higher, but my little boy was insistent I read this book as soon as possible so I gave into him and started it last week, and I finished within days, it was such an enjoyable read! As per the title, the book is centred around the wedding industry. This isn’t ...
