The Lost Throne Crowns A New King Of Adventure

Advantages: Tautly written. Plausible and engaging characters. A genuine page-turner.
Disadvantages: One or two contrived plot developments.

...had started losing faith in the genre given the recently pedestrian efforts of the likes of Dan Brown, Clive Cussler and Sam Bourne and was despairing of finding a worthy new flag bearer for this kind of story. Like some of the more scarcely believable plot developments used to drive the story in some of more formulaic drivel I have waded through recently, I found a ray of light in the most unlikely of places. Our son had just been born and my wife ...
...so I wandered down to the hospital charity bookshop and randomly picked up a paperback that had a compelling looking cover. I wasn’t expecting quality - just something to pass the time - however, what I ended up with was a classy yarn from a writer totally new to me – a story that left me hungry for more. The book was “The Lost Throne”, and the talented story-teller was Chris Kuzneski. THE BASICS “The Lost Throne” is the fourth of Chris Kuzneski’s ...

Crazy not to read this book!

Advantages: Easy to read and you won't want it to end
Disadvantages: It is that easy to read it ends too quickly!

I have plenty of books on my shelves at home - many that I buy and have for ages before I get a chance to read which is normally because I buy that many and most from authors I read all the time that I tend to then read my favourite authors first whilst others are still piling up! One of the latest books to grace my shelves was Chris Manby’s new one ‘Crazy in Love’. This was one I bought and read within a day just because I love her books so much! ...
...sat down to read it and had finished in super quick time as I simply could not put it down. The author: Chris Manby has written 13 books now including this one all under the chick lit genre. She is a UK author and most notably for this book she has decided to go by the name Chrissie Manby, which I thought was silly after all this time writing under Chris but, I think it has something to do with people potentially thinking she is a male author before ...

I prefer netball to Cross Country

Advantages: Ok read
Disadvantages: It's not really Alex's style

...order, I've jumped from Double Cross straight to Cross Country without reading the two or three books in between, but I don't think this has spoilt my enjoyment of this book. Synopsis Alex is called on to help the investigation of the deaths of an entire family, when he gets there he realises one of them is Eleanor Cox his ex girlfriend. Witnesses have mentioned that the perpetrators, although masked seemed to be very young, they could even children. ...
...to say I thought Alex had far more integrity. I do think James Patterson should think hard before producing another Alex Cross book though, because he seems to be running out of ideas and taking Alex in a direction that is completely inappropriate considering everything we know about Alex. ...

Made a difference to me!

Advantages: Lovely charming tale, well written
Disadvantages: Too many chapters!

...both have great career in the world of television as well. Life is treating them well, but when Will suffers a heart attack on the underground, he makes the momentous decision not to go back to work... ever. Amy can't believe he'll stick to it, and so is horrified when Will decides to buy a delapidated old country house and move the family halfway across England to live there. Amy isn't cut out for farming or the slow pace of country life, but she ...
...Amy hold it altogether for the sake of their 2 young children? Will young vet Guy be able to help Amy not only with her animals but with rebuilding herself too? This is a tale of living the dream... but what happens when it's not your dream but someone elses? Even though she has a very large catalogue of books, Carole Matthews' isn't actually a chick lit author I have read all that many books by! My first of her books, It's A Kind of Magic, was good ...
