This course is split into 2 languages. Either German or French with Russian or Italian, both from beginner's or advanced levels.
There is no point in me saying how much I enjoy this course as, well I wouldn't be carrying on if the opposite was the case. But nevertheless it is a well structured and taught course.
Basically you study both languages for the first year, concentrating on the grammar,etc.
You also do units in the culture and politics ... ...this there is the European Studies element, which takes you all the way through the developing Europe from 1850 - present day. This is the part of the course that makes the difference in my opinion. It is nice to have a part of the course that isn't relying on you speaking the language,etc.
So anyway the first year is grammar work and you only have to get 40% to pass and it doesn't count towards the degree.
Year two is the same format but about ...
