...Everyone's has already told you that your University years will be the best of your life, Prove them right and go to Bath.
I went to Bath from 1995-1998 and read Molecular and CellularBiology and knew as soon as I visited that it was the place for me. The Uni has a fantastic campus, it's a real community and for the first year you hardly need to set foot into the City. But when you do explore Bath you won't help but fall in love with the place, yes even you tough guys! Bath as a city retains more of it's past students as residents than any other Uni town and I for one will definately return there to live one day.
As for courses etc I know Biologists, Engineers, Chemists, Linguists, Archaetects and everyone knows they made the right choice in Bath, the lecturers and staff are a friendly lot, and god forbid some of them might even become...

Advantages: Excellent Reputation and Facilities Disadvantages: It ain't no cakewalk
.... The system used for the assessment of University teaching is a bit like the school OFSTED inspections only less strictly regulated. The departments of the University are assessed separately by an independent team who make a judgement as to whether or not a given department has lived up to its stated aims and assign a mark out of 24 accordingly. These marks are therfore only somewhat useful in giving a real impression of how good a given department actually is as they are dependent on the department in question's stated aims!
The University currently offers the following courses:
Archaeology and Anthropology
Biochemistry, Molecular and CellularBiological Sciences
Chemistry
Classical Archaeology and Ancient History
Classics
Classics and English
Classics and Modern Languages
Classics and Oriental Studies
Computer Science

Advantages: Excellent research facilities, resources, staff and international recognition Disadvantages: The course is intensive and requires commitment and dedication
...I was an overseas student who was interested in studying molecularbiology (Genetics) in England. Twelve years ago very few universities offered the course I am interested in. I applied to 5 and got accepted at three (Sheffield, Leeds and Nottingham). After visiting them all I found the department of Genetics at Nottingham university and the city itself most appealing. It has a beautiful campus, excellent academic and research facilities. People are very friendly and helpful especially with overseas students. During my course, my lecturers and tutors were incredibly supportive. The course structure was very structured and interesting. When I put in all the effort required, it was no trouble passing my exams. I enjoyed my course so much that I went on to do my PhD in the same subject. Again my supervisor was very supportive and helpful...

Advantages: Nice people good lectures Disadvantages: Hard essays
...The university of Sheffield department of molecularbiology and biotechnology (Cleverly known as MBB, well it’s a university these people are very clever.) is an excellent department. I can only talk as a first year but I’m studying microbiology and have taken all of the four MBB modules for the first year (Two in the first semester and two this semester, and I past the first two yeah) and the have been well taught and well set out.
The modules include as part of the teaching 8 - 3 hour practical (Yes I know 3 hour but if you do chemistry its 6!) a set of about…. 30 odd lectures and a few personal tutorials.
The practicals or lab classes as some people prefer to call them are led by an experienced highly acclaimed researcher/lecturer and each bench of about 8-10 students have a post graduate demonstrator to push...
