I have been told that if you own a money plant and can keep it in bloom, good fortune will be bestowed upon your household and you will never want for money.
The money plant is very easy to care for, it should have good light but prefers not to be in direct sunlight, and water two times a week is usually plenty. Since the leaves of the plant store water it is also ok if you forget to water it from time to time. The flowers are small and white and very pretty, and the plant i have is a few feet tall.
My plant was in flower when i bought it but when the flowers died i could never get more to come. I treat the plant well and even feed it from time to time ( i have even tried talking to it) but after 6 years it has still never flowerd again. I dont really understand where i am going wrong on this since the plant was only 10 inches when i got it and is obviously growing well.
I would like a much improved financial situation and although i am not superstitous, i have occasionally cursed my money plant, but i would rather be pennyless and have this lovely plant with its thick dark green leaves take pride in my living room.
I personally think it is a nice looking plant and it is easy for anyone to care for, even those of you out there who think all plants hate you and die at the sight of you can feel quite safe in the hands of a money plant.

My family have kept money plants for years, and I dont remember seeing them flower. They have grown huge though!
Thanks for the opinion.

A very interesting op - I wonder if the reason your money plant has not flowered for so long is because you have treated it so well. Some plants often flower when they are about to die. I know you have to be very mean about the way you look after African violets for them to flower - maybe its the same.

I think the only person who will actually make money out of these plants is probably the bloke who flogged it to you. Cheers for the op though! :-)
