Glaremeister
Advantages: Well it does it's job, sort of Disadvantages: It kinda doesn't, too
...amount of eye strain. The Kensington screen filters are available to fit most monitor sizes, and, to be fair, they are inconspicuous, and after a short while they are an almost un-noticed part of the furniture.
The usefullness of these filters is bound to vary depending on the position and the conditions your monitor is in, in my case these are not great. Once I'd fitted the screen filter there was an immediate difference - the glare HAD gone. However, ... ...had gone so dark that even turning the screen brightness up slightly made not a jot of difference!
I came to realise after a while that there was one main problem causing this; the nature of what was on the screen, as most of my work revolves around draughting in Autocad, and the preferred working background is black, the filter takes out all of the possible glare and darkens the screen, which means everything else semi-dark on the screen becomes ...

Give your eyes a rest...
Advantages: Super Thin Film Disadvantages: Loose connection wire
I'm no expert on these things so don't go on what I say here...
But...
I've brought a fair few different glare screen filters in the past and many haven't quite lived upto their jobs - with most being fairly bulky, cumbersom and a couple even totally useless.
I do IT reqs and buying these things is a real trial and error process - but - alas - my worries are over - and at an excellent price.
SlimScreen is one of the latest additions to the glare ...

Tinted glasses for your computer!
Advantages: Reduces headaches, eye strain and fatigue! Disadvantages: Difficult to install, can be cumbersome...
...screen and onto your eyes. Fellowes have designed a multi layer optical coating that helps eliminate glare. This particular model (48109) is the 'Standard Glare filter' and comes with a 'Traditional Tint' which cuts down glare. It also reduces the brightness of the screen, a bit like Sunglasses for your computer. Fellowes say that this helps 'increase contrast between the background and images for easier viewing'. All this helps reduce eye strain ... ...From what I can tell Fellowes have quite a good name in PC accessories, and my mum was recommended them when she bought these screens.
However, they are quite difficult to put on for the first time... I think it takes a bit of practise to get used to taking these off and putting them on your computer.
Also, if you are used to getting a full screen to look at, the parts of the computer screen covered by the plastic outer rim of the glare filter ...

Screen Enhancing Filter!
Advantages: Shows Contrast, Colour and Photographs In Amazing Graphics! Disadvantages: Look Quite Bulky When On Screen
This screen filter has put a stop to the cleaning on my computer screen forever! No more dirty fingermarks on your screen and best of all no dusting is ever needed again, due to this covers anti-static material.
Colours and patterns on the screen stand out a mile with this filter and best of all, it makes the contrast of colours come alive on the screen. I mainly use my computer as a source to view my digital photographs on and sometimes it is hard ... ...in contrast enough etc, however this screen makes the viewing of these pictures a more pleasurable in which my photographs seem to jump out of the screen at you!
Overall i felt that this screen filter was well worth the money, the only bad thing that i found with it was the fact that it makes your slim-line screen look bulky and much thicker however this is the price that you have to pay for perfection! ...

It holds up well
Advantages: Rotatable paper holder - holds your post-its Disadvantages: Cheap plastic parts mean its liable to break easily
...easier to read. The Fellowes Flex Arm Weighted Base does a great job of this. I have used this product for approximately 3 years now and it has proved ever so helpful. For me, I'd say it comes in 3 parts: -The base -The arm -The 'paper holder' (i cannot think of a better description) Its pretty simple to operate, so here is a quick breakdown on what it does and how it works: The base is sat on the desk, and as per the name is weighted. It has to ... ...a document onto the paper holder. The base is approximately 10cm x 20cm in area. It has rubber 'stops' on the bottom to stop it sliding. On the base there is a useful compartment where you can stow a notepad of post-it notes and possibly even a pen or two. As for the arm, it is inserted into a rotable joint in the base so it can swivel on the horizontal plane. So you can twist the arm left or right with respect to the base. The arm has two more hinged ...
