Monitor Battles:CRT goes head to head with LCD
Review of ViewSonic E70f+sb by
kandmf
Advantages: Very sharp clear image,No ghosting,Cheap
Disadvantages: Large ,like all CRTmonitors
...a refund.....Next plug in the Viewsonic Ultrabrite E70f+ and what a difference!!!!! ........Bright ,Sharp image with intense colours . This meant that the traditional disadvantage of CRTs ie flicker was totally unnoticed. The Quality of the image made up for the disadvantage of the increased size of the monitor
In the end I kept the Viewsonic E70F+ monitor and have not regretted my decision for one moment. The technical specification of the monitor ... ...then your choice is limeted by other factors. If not then at least 'test drive' the two systems before you make a decision.Certainly the Viewsonic Ultrabrite E70f+ is a star performer if you choose a CRT system and in it's silver and black livery it's 'Dead Smart' on any desk. ...

HP Pavilion Monitor-great value
Review of HP Pavilion M50 by
gena_marie
Advantages: Clear, crisp picture
Disadvantages: Heavy, HUGE, not flat
This monitor came with my HP Pavilion M50 computer system I bought some five years ago. It's a 13 inch monitor and is, of course, made for the HP Pavilion M50 system, but is compatible with other towers. (duh) First off, for the whole system, we paid $99.99 for the whole system. You can buy the monitor, which is 6 years old, for about $25 now. It features detachable external speakers, a microphone (in the top face), an on/off button, four different ... ...and a swiveling base which allows you to move the monitor up and down for better viewing. In this day and age, this monitor is very DEEP. It measures 16 inches deep, making it difficult to fit into many computer desks. With the speakers attached to the sides of the monitor, it is 20 inches wide. It is also 15 inches tall, including the base. It is quite large and heavy. So far, I have logged approximately 7500 hours with this monitor and have had ...

2 Monitors, 2 Days...Tuesday?
Review of HP S7540 by
iamasadlittleboy
Advantages: Bright colours, Good size, Clear, Good design
Disadvantages: Not a huge size, nothing else
So on top of the HP Compaq Business Desktop dc5100 - P4 640 I'm using is this HP monitor, a very clear, vibrant display showing exactly what it should. But first lets talk about it's design. A simple 17 inch monitor, HP logo in the top centre, "HP 7540" bottom centre and below that are 4 buttons. "MENU" on the right, - (left centre), + (right centre) and "SELECT". Further right is an led indicator and the on/off button. See simple, ordinary standard ... ...better off their companies.
HP are basically the one for customer support, with a brilliant website, brilliant phone support and their manuals as always are brilliantly detailed with clear information. HP seem to be one of the best for all that sort of stuff that I've come across in all my years of using computers (as I'm a bit of a geek I'd say at least 10 years of my life). The installation is again incredibly simple, just mearly plug it in and ...

Smaller sturdy little beast
Review of Compaq V 70 by
sit2020
Advantages: Cheap and reliable
Disadvantages: still a weight
...have only 3 of the Compaq V70 model. This is almost identical to the V75, just a little bit smaller. OK when you look at the thin LCD type monitors that are becoming more and more common, you might ask why are we still using these, and why will we probably continue to use these for a long time to come. Although my employers have probably not given this consideration in a previous review it was pointed out to me that Its interesting to note that ... ...small when compared to the Compaq P1210 it is still a fairly sizeable monitor. Yes it has it does have a flat square display. It is nearly as deep as it is wide. Although I am not one to give you a review stuffed full of technical bits, to get a better idea of the actual size I have included the following the following, the screen is 16 (corner to corner). The dimensions are approx 16 1/2 wide, 17 1/2 high and 17 1/2 deep. The weight comes in ...
