E74 is OK
Review of IBM E 74 by
ben-lloyd
Advantages: Functional, Works!
Disadvantages: Nothing apart from being a CRT and being BIG
The E74 from IBM really isn't anything special. A large, beige box with a clear, sharp display and five buttons to access the digital tuning menu to be precise. Legend has it that this model is also available in black for you aesthetes!
The digital menu contains all of the functions one has come to expect, including the option to change the language in which the menus are written. Navigating between menu items is relatively simple and it should ... ...be looking for a 15" TFT which has equivalent display real-estate or a 17" monitor with a flat glass front. However, if you have set your heart on an IBM E74, I strongly recommend attempting to get hold of this monitor secondhand - I did and it only cost £40. ...

good CRT monitor, although obsoleted to LCD
Review of IBM P 76 by
lisasen
Advantages: Sharp and clear, flat, low distortion, stable
Disadvantages: big size & heavy
...the SONY Triniton CRT tube, IBM P76 provided a very sharp, bright and colorful picture quality. In fact, this model is outsourced from SONY in Japan.
The model seems to be discontinued now and obviously obsoleted compare with the light weight and non-flashing of LCD. However, some features are still unsubstitutable. First, it is more brighter; Second, provide a wider view angle; Most important, more colorful, the color is more accurate, thereby ...

I would have one if it was free
Review of ThinkVision C190 by
skrg28
Advantages: Black and its 19"
Disadvantages: Evrything
I bought one of these to go with my ACER PC. Having already purchased an LCD I didnt want to have to spend a load on another so I bought this. But at £170 I should have just bought the LCD.....
First impressions of CRT monitors are always found when you have to take them out of the box. This one weighed a ton and a half. Not the best thing to be lifting with a bad back.
The screen quality is very good on this unit, crisp and bright. But I am afraid ... ...the base it took me 4 or 5 attempts to figure out how to attach it. On doing so I placed it on my desk only to find that the base is not strong enough to hold the weight of the monitor. If you angle it up at the back it just drops back again.
The other major problem with the unit is that the actual tube is nothing short of titanic. I have to sit at an angle just to be able to fit it in the space that I have. My previous compaq monitor fitted fine.

Good but Bulky
Review of IBM G 74 by
mcfarlane
Advantages: quality and reliability
Disadvantages: size, cost
...use this work horse SVGA IBM monitor every day for work and it has proved sound and reliable. Being IBM, the monitor was not the cheapest on the market but I like the reliability and servicing options available. The resolution is quality is good and colours are quite vibrant. The 'on-screen' colour controls are easy to change.
On the down side, apart from price, the weight and overall size of the monitor are negative factors which need to be considered. ...

Dell SP2208WFP
Review of Dell SP2208WFP by
leum
Advantages: Excellent performance and the price is very affordable.
Disadvantages: Glossy screen coating isn't the best choice for office use.
...have no regrets in buying Dell SP2208WFP. Its performance is really great and the price is low, very affordable at $299. This 22-inch wide-screen LCD really excelled for me as far as my observation is concern, also delivering outstanding results with DVDs and games. It supplies a useful feature set, serving up standard VGA and DVI video connections as well as HDMI. Aside from that, a Webcam above the display for easy video conferencing and two USB ... ...underneath. Dell SP2208WFP is really a timely product for those planning to buy new monitor--only it has a glossy screen coating. But aside from that I have no other negative comments. It really performs highly. Regarding its designs, well Dell SP2208WFP has a clean and simple design. A 0.75-inch silver bezel frames the display, which widens to a full inch along the top where the 2.0-megapixel Webcam resides. A glossy black belt runs along the sides, ...
