Great Screens but read before buying
Review of Formac Gallery 2010 by
Darkle
Advantages: High Quality Screen, Low refresh rate, Built in USB Hub great looks, Excellent Viewing angles
Disadvantages: 1 Year warranty, sometimes with Macintosh connector not PC
The Formac 2010 is a fantastic TFT. I have set a number of these up for clients and the refresh times, viewing angles and the sheer size of the screen make them ideal for watching DVDs, playing games(see below about games) and generally using the computer. Gone are the days of ghosting that used to be associated with TFTs.
Great as these are, I would like to make sure anyone intending to buy one of these is aware of a few points which may cause ... ...The native resolution of the Formac Gallery 2010 is 1600x1200, this means that anything below this resolution(while it will work) will look blocky and not sharp, this does happen with all TFTs which are not run at their native resolution, but if you're used to a 19" or smaller TFT you might not have had to run at such a High res before. The problem that this creates is that when playing a 3d game, the more modern it is, most likely, the more power ...

Wonderfull LCD
Review of NEC MultiSync LCD1970NXp by
0ffspring
Advantages: A big screen
Disadvantages: Not comfortable joystick
Most of all, i would like to sign that fact that the screen is 19' - that is the most valuable advantage, furthermore, it is very stable and will not fall down from the table (as many people think).
I enjoy playing games and wathing films on this 1280 x 1024 screen .No noise. Design will fit any room or office(i have got black and silver design - colours).
Minimum of workplace onthe table(aprox. 20 square santimeters). Also i liked the ability ...

A brilliant desktop TFT monitor.
Review of HP L1906 by
andycharger
Advantages: Great performance, resolution capabilities, looks
Disadvantages: lack of speakers, no DVI or S Video connectivity
...work we are a major HP user nowadays. Mainly because of the reliability and quality of the products. Hey, im the IT manager so the better quality products we buy, the less maintenance and replacing we need to do!
That why when my developers were asking for more screen resolution to maximise their working space, we needed 19 inch monitors that could not only give a bigger picture but also offer larger resolutions than the industry standard 1024 x ... ...x 1024 Resolution which the HP L1906 copes with admirably. Without any problems from refresh rates or screen temperatures, this screen delivers exactly the right size desktop for our needs.
Talking of refresh rates and response times, it is fantastic at reproducing lightning quick action sequences so again makes it a natural choice when choosing a screen for playing games on.
Its a bright and functional screen with vivid colours and able to produce ...

Samsung SyncMaster 940B
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 940B by
mcc28
Advantages: Less electric than CRT, smaller footprint, better image, lower heat output
Disadvantages: Software average, where do you put that old CRT?
Easy to operate LCD computer screen. Plug n Play install is a breeze. All pixels bright and clear with a number of settings (presets) that you can use to adjust your viewing experience through the included software.
Pivots and swivels and is height adjustable which is a definite feature needed on LCD screens and not always available at this price point.
The colours are crisp and bright allowing the text on the screen to appear clear and clean. ... ...from your graphics card. I'm sure you are aware that digital input is better and you should not need to make manual adjustments to the screen.
There is a Manufacturer Warranty of 3 years. The Max Resolution is 1280 x 1024 / 75 Hz .
The ColorMagic software included in the box allows you to make custom settings or to finely tune your settings. To be honest I would avoid using the software as occasionally it errors when starting and in truth all the ...

NEC MultiSync LCD1770NX
Review of NEC MultiSync LCD1770NX by
owais997
Advantages: circular base, smooth, rounded edges with easy height and tilt and swivel adjustability
Disadvantages: The viewing angle loses contrast pretty quickly
The 17” NEC MultiSync LCD1770NX, a flat-panel monitor featuring a thin-frame design, enhances your visual experience with superior screen performance, advanced technologies and comforting design elements. This model's Ambix dual-input technology ensures compatibility with today's and tomorrow's computer systems, while an integrated USB 2.0 hub connects you to all of your peripherals.
The LCD1770NX model has a circular base, smooth, rounded ... ...display does not pivot.
The viewing angle loses contrast pretty quickly when moving left to right in front of the screen, but I found text to be very legible, even at small point sizes.
Straight out of the box, and without adjustment, the LCD1770NX display had a distinct blue cast, most noticeable in gray areas of an image. However, I was able to achieve a good neutral gray and accurate color using the manual calibration controls on the front of ...
