I love Christmas so much as I am always inundated with perfumes for Christmas presents. This means I do not have to spend any my hard earned cash buying myself perfume as it can be so expensive especially if you like designer or couture brands. My lovely gran bought me the monsoon perfume, it was a great choice as usually I get some dodgy presents from her.

Its from Monsoon, I love the shop but rarely shop their as its expensive but do shop their for special occasion outfits. I had noticed the perfume for sale in the shop and was attracted by the stunning box but decided not to buy it as I had other things to buy and was extremely pleased when opening my Christmas presents to discover the perfume.

Monsoon sells the perfume for £14.99 for a 100ml bottle and I have also seen it for sale in the perfume shop, super drug and boots the chemist for around the same price. You can also buy a gift set that includes the perfume and a body spray.

The packaging is gorgeous and very eye catching, its mainly a purple, pinks and blues all over it has a very busy oriental pattern to it. They design looks like flower and feathers, its rather hard to describe. The packaging has a gold embossed logo on the box, it adds a elegant touch to the box.

The bottle is absolutely stunning and looks amazing on my dressing table, The bottle has a rounded base leading up to a thin tubed neck. The bottle is a purple pink shade and slightly transparent. At the top of the bottle has a gold metal layer around the bottle with monsoon engraved on it, the lid has the same pattern as on the box the busy oriental/Moroccan pattern, its very colourful with gold shades.

The lid fits on nicely without having to put much effort into putting and pulling the lid off, it has a spray applicator which is easy to use, it does not block up and sprays evenly. Monsoon perfume smells of eastern scents, its more of an evening perfume as it is quite strong and powerful. Its different to any perfume I have ever smelt before, which is good as I do not want to smell like everyone else. Its smells floral and clean and fresh.

The heart notes include Moroccan rose oil, lychees and spices, this adds a lot of the main smells that last on the skin and are rich scents. The top notes include neroli and bergamot and smells beautiful. The base notes include precious amber, bourgainvillea petal this adds a exotic floral scent.

My conclusion is that I am surprised by the perfume in many ways as it is from the high street shop monsoon, it is more than good enough to be a designer perfume, a lot of effort has been made with the perfume down to the bottle design and even the box. The scent is amazing and different from the usual perfumes I wear, the floral scent is very crisp and fresh but has a amazing spicy scent and makes the perfume have a more oriental touch to it. The perfume has real staying power unlike many perfumes I own, which is a added bonus as I do not need to use as much perfume. £14.99 is an absolute bargain for a 100ml bottle of perfume, I only wear the perfume in the evening as I find it to be to good to wear as a everyday perfume and have more than half a bottle left since owning it from Christmas time. I have often been asked by friend what brand of perfume I am wearing and my friends are always surprised when I tell them monsoon. I would recommend the perfume to young to mature woman as it would suit everyone.
