...even more so in a monster truck. But no, when you try, your truck just stops abruptly, usually causing you to lose the whole race. And when you try to keep up your speed and take a corner at speed, but without trying to skid, you end up skidding right off the course!!!
Half of the power-ups seem to aid your opponents more than harm them. The speed-boosts usually cause you to end up veering off the course or rolling over. And the force-field, ... ...up propelling them further ahead.
The inability to catch up with your opponents when you get behind is an extremely frustrating flaw to the game. One mistake and it's easier to restart the whole race over, than try to catch up.... this usually results in you throwing the controller into the wall!!!

The tracks are covered in hills, dips and jumps. You expect some good handling and controls to make this game playable. However this game was a total failure in that respect. In other games, eg rally games, power turning, skidding, whatever you wanna call it, it's always possible. You would have thought even more so in a monster truck. But no, when you try, your truck just stops abruptly, usually causing you to lose the whole race. And when you try to keep up your speed and take a corner at speed, but without trying to skid, you end up skidding right off the course!!!

There are a few good points to the game. There is a good variety in the tracks, and the ability to go off the tracks and sometimes find power-ups or shortcuts is a good idea. Also, some of the trucks are made to immitate real-life trucks.. for example Big Foot and Gravedigger. Also there are some fun multiplayer minigames.
But then another point to add to its disadvantages is very poor, repeatative graphics, even for an older console. I mean how many trees can you have that look exactly the same?!?!
Also, the inability to support a memory card means that every time you want to re-enter the game, an 8 - 17 digit long code must be put in. Again, another frustrating flaw.
I seriously don't recommend this game to anyone. It's flaws considerely out-number and out-weigh it's rare good points.
