~~ Montagne Jeunesse Green Tea Peel Off Mask ~~
Ever since my teenage years I have taken good care of my skin where I will routinely cleanse, tone and moisturise. My skin was oily when I was younger, which is something I absolutely hated, but it has been to my benefit as I have grown older and I am now fast approaching 45 with soft and smooth skin and only a few fine lines situated at the corners of my eyes. My skin can now be described as T-zone where I experience oily patches on my forehead and nose and dry patches on my cheeks and neck. I adore the Swansea based company, Montagne Jeunesse, as their quirky products contain natural ingredients and are generally a joy to use. My family and friends are well aware of my passion for beautiful toiletries and as a result, I was delighted to receive a large selection of face masques for Christmas with this review discussing Green Tea Peel Off.

I adore using all types of face masques, but those that I find most favourable are the ones that can be peeled off or those that offer a warming sauna sensation. Green Tea Peel Off is presented to us in a single use 10ml sachet and if you are familiar with this range you will be aware of the colourful image of a smiling female who tends to wear certain items on her eyes to depict the main ingredients contained within the mask. I prepared my skin in readiness for my mask where I thoroughly cleansed then carefully pinned back my hair as I frequently find loose strands have embedded themselves into the drying product. I have considerable experience with the products within this range and I noticed that the usual tear section was missing although the sachet was easily opened. Montagne Jeunesse always provide a disclaimer on the reverse of the sachets where they state that the contents may differ from the image shown. Whilst the beaming female has a face plastered in thick bright green the appearance of the mask was a pale lemon/lime gel. I was unsure of what fragrance to expect as I'm unfamiliar with the aroma of green tea and due to the appearance of the product I had expected it to be considerably zesty.
The reverse of the packaging states that the mask contains uplifting green tea together with root ginger and squeezed lemon, which will subsequently, deeply cleanse and tone the skin. However, I find the aroma rather difficult to describe, as whilst it is extremely pleasant I could barely detect anything specific, which I found a little disappointing. The mask was easily applied although my skin initially stung ever so slightly, but the sensation soon vanished. I often find the 10 ml sachets a little too much for a single application, so I keep the remainder for use at a later date, but I only had enough for one use in respect of Green Tea. We are advised to relax for 15 - 20 minutes as the mask works its magic and within about 5 minutes I could feel my cheeks and chin beginning to tighten due to the mask drying. I love this sensation as I feel that the ingredients are ironing out my fine lines, but of course, that's all in my mind!
Although the mask isn't marketed as delivering a warming sensation, I felt my cheeks heating slighting due to the tightness; a feeling I found very comforting and relaxing. I'm unsure why the packaging shows the female wearing a green mask as the appearance of mine was totally different and as it dried it became clearer and looked as if I had plastered my face in UHU glue!
The mask fully dried within the given timescale and I always begin to peel from my neck upwards to prevent any wrinkles. It's always somewhat of a challenge for me as I try my hardest to remove it in one piece, but I always get caught out with my eyebrows and end up picking out small pieces. However, I battled with this one as it kept breaking and I ended up having to try and remove very small pieces, which I found extremely frustrating. Whilst we are not advised to do so I always rinse my face afterwards with a little warm water followed by a splash of cold to close the pores. The mask left my skin feeling wonderfully clean, fresh and cleansed, but I always tend to experience a little dryness with peel off masks, particularly around my chin and neck area, so I need to apply some moisturiser. Whenever I use masks my skin gives a radiant and healthy appearance and I feel confident that they are doing some good, particularly due to their natural ingredients. I would definitely recommend Montagne Jeunesse Green Tea Peel Off although it loses a star from me due to the fact that it was a nightmare to remove.
I do not intend listing the ingredients, but would advise that the majority of them are natural. Montagne Jeunesse do not test any of their products on animals and they are BUAV approved. The empty sachet can be recycled once empty. Montagne Jeunesse masks are available in stores such as Asda, Superdrug, Boots and Home Bargains and tend to retail at £1.10 each. However, I will always wait until they are on offer when I can normally obtain three for the price of two.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
