Modern Organic Products (MOP) are a hair and body care range that was launched in 1998 use certified organic and food-derived ingredients which work to cleanse and moisturise the hair in a gentle and healthy way. We now don't have to compromise effective products with natural ingredients, and vice versa.
The ingredients list on each of the bottles reads like a recipe! Those ingredients in the list that are certified organic are marked with an asterisk and all of the fragrances are created by the natural ingredients, not artificial additions. MOP never test on animals and every product is suitable for pregnant women. Some products such as those in the Pear range are particularly good for children.
The Glisten range is aimed at people with chemically treated hair or those who just want their hair to be shinier as it aims to add volume and lots of shine. It is made with certified orange extract so most of the products in the range have a soft orange aroma.
Shine Drops is a serum and part of the Glisten styling range and is often referred to as the 'Hero' product . It usually retails for the same price as the shampoo and conditioner (£8.00 - £9.00) for 50ml but should last long time as you're only using a teeny amount. It is suitable for all hair types but particularly dull hair.
The main benefit of this serum is the organic ingredients, particular as you will be leaving this product on your hair to be absorbed as opposed to washing it out. It is made with natural silicas which is washed out easily, instead of silicone which is what makes other serums so smoothing.
Other ingredients are certified organic oatstraw which creates smoothness and shine, certified horsetail which is high in amino acids and strengthens fragile hair and certified organic aloe which adds moisture and conditions. It also contains vitamin E and UV protectors, which are good for preventing fading in colour treated hair and good to leave in at this time of year. If it stops raining and we get any sun that is!
The serum (applied in 1-3 drops) can be used in various ways, on wet hair before blow-drying, on dry hair to seal in split ends and moisturise or you can even mix a bit with your shampoo and/or condition for that extra boost. I normally just use on dry hair to smooth flyaways down and as i like that you're putting something natural on your hair and not just a load of gunk that your hair is going to soak up. It is said to be more effective as a shine enhancer as it doesn't create build up which is eventually what makes hair dull.
This is a really good serum. I have fine hair which needs moisture but gets weighed down and it smoothes it perfectly and gives a natural shine which is never greasy. It would probably still be really effective on thicker hair, and you could always just apply little bit more. Smells fresh and leaves hair soft!
