Anyway last week I found myself purchasing a 750ml bottle of Morning Fresh because it was the only brand left on the shelf and my pots in the sink were in danger of reaching the ceiling.
The ... ...better bargain.
Morning Fresh Washing Up Liquid is available in smaller 500ml bottles and is also available in different flavours to accompany the Zesty Lemon, these being varieties called Oxygen and Wildflower as well the Original variety. Having never tried any of these I'm afraid I can't comment on these further.

I can't believe that I am writing a review on Morning Fresh washing Up Liquid because as a rule I usually like to pay a little bit more for my detergent as I believe that the cheaper brands are just watered down and you always end up using twice as much of the stuff. Anyway last week I found myself purchasing a 750ml bottle of Morning Fresh because it was the only brand left on the shelf and my pots in the sink were in danger of reaching the ceiling.
The Packaging
The bottle I bought had 50% free in it so it is in quite a tall transparent plastic bottle. I would like to say that I made my purchase because I figured that if I had to use twice as much then at least I'd got 50% for free but the truth is it really was all that was available in my local shop.
Anyway back to the packaging, although it is quite nondescript, tall, quite rectangular in shape and certainly not modern, with a green plastic top. The label on the front has the words "Morning Fresh" in large green lettering and above this in quite small green capital letters it says "Concentrated." At the top of the label there is a red band with the words "50% Extra Free" in white letters.
The reverse of the bottle has another large label with the words "Morning Fresh Zesty Lemon" and some writing below this which just tells you how to use the product
The Product
The liquid inside the bottle is a yellowy-brown colour, it certainly isn't a bright lemony yellow. In fact it is more like the colour of dirty washing up water.
So Does It Work?
As soon as I squeezed the liquid out of the bottle I was initially quite impressed by the thickness of the liquid and I needed only a small amount to form a lather. If I am being honest I probably didn't need any more than my regular Washing Up Liquid which is usually Persil (or occasionally Fairy). I was also pleased to discover that it cut through the grease on my plates quite well too.
I paid £1.15 for my bottle although I guess it is a few pence cheaper in the large supermarkets which is not actually much cheaper than my usual brand, although obviously with the 50% extra this made it a much better bargain.

The Smell
One thing that I wasn't too impressed with was the smell. The smell was definitely of Lemon but it was not very sharp or long lasting and I found it to be rather synthetic. In fact the smell actually reminded me of the smell of Lemon flavoured Opal Fruits (sorry Starburst). How weird is that?

Conclusion
I found Morning Fresh Washing Up Liquid to be a fairly middle of the road product. It was neither outstandingly fantastic or too bad. It did clean my pots satisfactorily but it lacked the lovely smell of my regular Persil. It claims to be "A Breath of Fresh Air in the Kitchen." I can't comment on the other varieties but Zesty Lemon Flavour, I am sorry Cussons but I think not.
On reflection I have decided to give this product just 3 stars.
Advantages: It got me out of washing up for a couple of days. Disadvantages: The horrible, horrible smell.
...brought home a bottle of Morning Fresh Mint Fresh, I felt I just had to warn you, so that you didn't make the same mistake.
Normally we stick to the more expensive brands of washing-up liquid, that is either Persil or Fairy, but my wonderful cost-conscious husband saw this for 63p, and as we were running low of our normal brand he decided to pick up a bottle. So lets see how it compares with the bottle of Persil that I went out and bought to replace ... ...friendly.

...fairy liquid he bought Cussons Morning Fresh in zesty lemon. I didn't have time to go back to the shops for some fairy so decided to make do with it.
The bottle is clear and transparent with a green flip top lid at the top. The one my husband bought was a special offer one with 50% extra free, 750ml for the price of 500ml and it cost an amazingly cheap 66p in Wilkinson. You can however pay up to a pound for the same product in other stores.

It makes three claims on the back, to give long lasting bubbles, cut through grease effectively and contain real citrus extracts.
The bubbles are long lasting. They certainly last the duration of your average dishwashing session, for me about ...

...the other week I spotted Morning Fresh on offer at two 500ml bottles for 99 pence. After a smidgens deliberation time coupled with the fact that they didn’t have any of my usual Lemon Fairy, into my trolley went two bottles of Morning Fresh Zesty Lemon. The bottle is clear plastic and nicely rounded with the Cussons logo embossed onto the bottle both front ... ...a nice golden yellow colour. Morning Fresh is splashed in large and bold dark green lettering across the front label, the background of which is white and lemon (maybe because this is lemon scented..) and the words ‘zesty lemon’ are written underneath the Morning Fresh product announcement. The back label pronounces that this dishwashing liquid has long lasting bubbles, cuts through grease effectively and contains real citrus extracts. The cap on ...

...these criteria, and that is Morning Fresh washing up liquid.
Made by Cussons, Morning Fresh comes in three different kinds - original, zesty lemon, and anti-bacterial. I have not tried 'zesty lemon' or 'anti-bacterial', so can only tell you about the original kind.
I first came across Morning Fresh Original several years ago. I wanted a change from my usual make, so thought I'd give it a try. And I'm really pleased I did...
The bottle itself is ... ...Like many washing up liquids, Morning Fresh Original is dark green in colour, but perhaps slightly more runny in consistency than most others. On the bottle it says that Morning Fresh contains real citrus extracts, but this is not immediately evident from the smell. To me, it just smells like a strange concoction of chemicals. However, as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, or in this case, in the washing up. When I first bought ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "Morning Fresh Washing Up Liquid"
Advantages: Cheap at 57p! Disadvantages: You need to use lots of liquid to get some suds
Usually I buy Fairy or MorningFreshwashingupliquid depending on which one is the cheapest but I noticed this Daisy one in Tesco`s and decided to give it a try.
Daisy WashingUpLiquid
The washingupliquid comes in a clear plastic container which contains a green liquid and has a red cap, on the front is a green label with a picture of a daisy and there is a little logo that says Discount Brands. It also states that it is a concentrated washingupliquid and is original
On the back you are told how to use the washingupliquid it also tells me that this is a 500ml bottle and it has not been tested on animals.
What do I think?
I have just done my dishes, I added a little bit of the liquid to the water but there was hardly any suds so I added lots more until I got suds!
I was expecting the liquid to be very thin but ...
Advantages: Smells nice, does the job, doesn't cost the earth Disadvantages: None
I have just finished a bottle of MorningFreshwashingupliquid and quite frankly it was hardly better then water. I had to use an awful lot just to get a bit of a lather.
I went into Tesco's and noticed their new washingup liqid in the same shape bottles as Persil washingupliquid. It was on offer at buy one get one half price so I decided to give it a try. I wasn't expecting too much as own brand liquids don't tend to be too strong, but I was pleasantly surprised.
There is a range of different perfumes - the two I bought are Citrus and Spring both of which smell lovely. You only need a small amount to clean even greasy dishes and the price is very good indeed - especially if you buy it when it's on special offer! ...
Advantages: Smells nice, good for Teflon pans Disadvantages: Price, does not replace usual liquid
I normally get a bog-standard, cheap washingupliquid, as I've never fallen for the notion that Fairy products offer a great deal more than your run-of-the-mill bottle of MorningFresh.
Despite those dodgy 80s adverts, featuring Nanette Newman complete with rows and rows of sparkling white plates and the claims that Fairy could go much further than your normal washingupliquid, I am not convinced. I have always found that my trays remain just as slimy unless I wash them three times, my water gets mucky just as quickly as with any other liquid and?is it really so difficult to tip the bowl out and start again? Perhaps you use less of the stuff without experiencing that grimy feel that you get with the really cheap products, but I've never had 'fairy soft hands' (unless they are referring to washerwoman's wrinkles) and still didn ...
