I've had these straighteners for about two years now and throughout that time they've served me well.
I thought it was best to spend a bit more money in the hope of getting a pair of straighteners that actually did a decent job, so I went for the Morphy Richards - I knew someone who had them and they seemed to do a good job on her hair - though at the time they did cost me £80, which is perhaps a little excessive.

However I have a friend who bought some just before Christmas and managed to get them for about £40 which is an excellent deal for such a great pair of straighteners.

They've got two heat settings - one for thin hair and one for thick hair - both of which take less than a minute to heat up. They get very hot very quickly - you have to be careful not to burn yourself on them!

I've got quite long hair and they do a good job on mine - it takes me about half an hour to get mine looking how I want.
My sister has much shorter hair and she achieves fantastic results with these straighteners - much better than with her own. She gets her hair absolutely poker straight in about twenty minutes and the results do seem to last into the night.

Most people seem to recommend that you straighten your hair after you've washed (and dried obviously) it, but if you want your results to last then I've found that straightening the day after you wash your hair does seem to give a good result.

A down side would have to be that there is no travel pouch - the straighteners have a long 'salon-length' lead which is great when you're using them but means that they take up quite a bit of room when trying to take them with you. You can't wrap them up for a while after either because they take a while to cool down. To combat this I often turn them off when I'm almost finished and then use them as they are cooling down to touch-up areas that I've missed.

Still if you want poker straight hair and you want it at an affordable price - Morphy Richards straighteners are the way to go - £40 for these straighteners is a bargain!
