Advantages: Great value for money Disadvantages: Ceramic plates have started to burn
...I bought these straighters not long ago, and they are brilliant!! I couldn't decide whether to get these or the infamous GHDs, so when I was recommended these by a friend I thought I would buy them. They were excellent value for money, at a meager £89 compared to some varieties of GHDs. I think that these work alot better than them and my hair is perfectly straight after using them. The only small problem with them is that the ceramic part has started to wear away and I keep forgetting to turn them off, so the new feature of the GHDs straightners, (where it switches it self off after half an hour) would be handy. I am definitely glad that I bought these instead of GHDs, great value for money and I would recommend them to anyone!!...

Advantages: Heat up quickly to a high temperature Disadvantages: can be frustrating waiting for them to heat up again when in a rush!
...I found these absolutely amazing i would say there just as good as GHD's! My hair is thick and find that the wide plates make it alot easier and alot more efficient. They have ceramic plates which makes me personally feel more confident that there not going to dry out my hair. usually i find that after about 5months straightners start to break but so far so good. there also good for fine hair as the temperature is changable, the highest heat is 200 degrees C which leaves me with poker straight hair. It also has a long cable, but id say its about average length for a straightning cord. the only problem iv found so far is the waiting around to heat up, in all honesty it doesnt bother me usually unless im in a major rush! otherwise though iv found that these are the best straightners iv had so far. There not as easy to travel with though...

Advantages: thin plates, cramic, high temperature, use for curling, easy for styling hair Disadvantages: easily scratched, smell.
...I must admit that I adore my Mark Hill hair straighteners, especially that they work perfectly on my curly hair which I found difficult with other hair straighteners. The ceramic plates heat up very quickly, with your choice of high or lower temperature and they glide so smoothly giving you smooth, straight hair in minutes.
The high temperature provides excellent results for all types of hair, and the thin plates makes it easy to straighten hair close to the roots without struggle. You can also use it for curling your hair or creating feathered outer layers as it is thin and easy to take control of.
However, the only disadvantage I found out that if it's used on even slightly greasy hair it would start giving smoke and smelling, and the smell will cling on to the plates if not cleaned, and then onto your hair everytime it's used...
