Advantages: Glides over clothing with minimum effort. Disadvantages: May be a bit on the expensive side but worth paying for.

I shopped around a fair bit for a decent iron that would really perform well. I normally go for low cost on most appliances but my theory, when it comes to ironing, is that for what can ... ...that bit extra to cut your ironing time in half.
At the time of buying, Argos were doing £10 off on this iron which made it £39.95 - there is also an option to purchase an extended guarantee - which I didn't do. I read up what reviews I could on the internet but there are very few which is why I hope you will benefit from this one.

I shopped around a fair bit for a decent iron that would really perform well. I normally go for low cost on most appliances but my theory, when it comes to ironing, is that for what can be such a boring and mundane task, it's worth paying that bit extra to cut your ironing time in half.

The specifications of this iron really do win it for you. The iron is extremely sleek to look at and, as a subtitle is called the Comfigrip Precise Control. It's dynamic non-stick soleplate just slides along your clothes. It has a non-drip system with a larger-than-average water tank (420ml) which from experience does far beyond a large washing basket full of ironing. Other advantages are that it includes a jet clean option, vertical and variable steam, water spray and is anti-scale. It also has a safety swtich off which switches the iron off in 8 seconds if left horizontal on the board, or 30 seconds when not in use.
The really nifty thing about this product is that it has an electronic control system. The temperature for ironing is controlled by 'up and down' buttons and the selection is shown by a blue light. When the required ironing temperature has been reaching, it sounds a 'beep' to let you know.
The bizarre thing is that I actually enjoy ironing now and I'm encouraged to do it more based on the ease of use of this product. It feels so light to use and literally does glide across the board. The iron heats up quite quickly and really gets those creases out! It is easy to store and has a 3m cable that can just wrap around the base.
I totally recommend this product which I have had for about 3 months now and not looked back since.
