...I decided to purchase the Morphy Richards 42270 Jet Stream Iron. If you dont want to spend a fortune then this is good value for money. I paid £69.98 for it which is definately the lower end of the Steam Generator family Chain, but it does the trick. You may be able to find it slightly cheaper online.
Its quite light but takes up quite a lot of room. It can fit easily on a sturdy ironing board and can even be placed on the floor if its safe in your ... ...enough to make it more convienent to move about when ironing if necessary.
The heat up time is about 3 minutes. It makes an awful noise when you first use it but the manual says this is perfectly normal and is just the water circulating in the iron, to produce steam. Bare with it for about 40seconds and the noise will go away, although your neighbours might come round to check you're OK!!.

...needing to be refilled, the Morphy Richards lasts me for at least an hour.
With the water tank (which can't be detatched) the iron isn't particularly easy to store, I've kept the original box and return the iron to that after each use but with the box being cardboard I'm not sure that this offers a longterm solution.

at first i found this iron really easy to use, even though it does make a lot of noise while generating the water which does pass after about 30 seconds or so, the water needs refilling very often which can be annoying when you are in the flow of your ironing! I have also noticed that every time the water tank needs refilling it can take up to more than a min for the steam to generate, which is very annoying with the awful noise that the generator ... ...8 months and after refilling the tank during ironing the water is refusing to come through at all, so i have to turn the thing off and wait untill its cool enough to start again! the iron is great to use when there is steam generating through it, but in my case that is not very often! ...

well this is an iron which is easy too use and very light on the wrist if you suffer from wrist strain or do alot of ironing this would be a benifit its steam is good and dosnt wet your clothes it is fast at heating up and dont leak water its design is modern and the only one problem is the bottom of the iron is hard to clean you really need to clean it after each iron otherwise it goes scummy therefore can cause problems if not cleaned correctly ... ...good in price and will last around one year if looked after. this is good for older people who do little laudary but need a easy and effective product which gives good results, it will cut through the ironing and it will take around five minutes to complete a load of washing if used corectly. the stream make creses vanish faster and the iron runs along easyier. ...
