Why did I want this toaster?
Well my toaster broke. (Why elsde does anyone want a new toaster?!) It had always ben a bit tempremental and badly designed so to be fair I was pretty glad that it broke and I could get a new one!!! I decided to get this particular toaster because it has recieved good reviews from a couple of folk around here and because it looks so swish! I didn't want anything too expensive but at the same time I didn't want a tempremental cruddy one like the last hunk of junk.
I bought mine from amazon.co.uk with my hard earned vouchers about 6months ago. Back then it cost me £19.99. This product, unfortunately has gone out of stock since but you can still buy it through the "new and used" section for about £15. I think this is a very reasonable price for such a stylish looking toaster with such useful functions. I mean look at the product picture...wouldn't you pay £20 for this for a piece of kit like this eh! Very stylish and modern looking isn't it!

Functions
2 bread slots. Only two I know but you don't really need any more unless you have a family...or like to eat piles of toast! Anyway it's enough for me and Jonny and it makes the toaster itself small and easy to stick in the corner of a workspace, out of the way.

LCD Display...how cool is that!!! This dudey little screen is in a cool blue colour and lets you know at a glance which settings you're using. The text is pretty clear to read but it's kind of small so you can't exactly read it from all the way across the kitchen...then again do you really need to? It's not something that I couldn't live without but it just adds to the great appearance and it looks fantastic in a modern kitchen.

9 different levels for your heat settings. This seems like a huge range I know but the difference between each number is minimal. If you find your toast is soggy on level 4 then it will be slightly less soggier on level 5, rather than burned to a crisp!

Wide slots for thicker bread or even...bagels and crumpets. No more squished bread!!!

An alarm. This has to be the best feature for me because when I'm making toast I tend to do other things whilst I'm waiting. So if I nip out into the utility room to fold some washing and my toast pops up, the toaster beeps quite loudly and I hear it from the next room. No more re-heated cardboard toast for me!!!

A bagel button which I've never used for bagels but it's toasts crumpets and other thicker bready foodstuffs to absolute perfection. You know what it's like trying to toast a crumpet. 9 times out of 10 either the middle is nicely cooked but the outside is burned or the outside is perfect but the middle is practically raw!!! With my old toaster I never got the perfect crumpet no matter what heat level I turned it to.

A frozen button which defrosts your bread before toasting it. This again is perfect. The toast comes out just as it would with de-frosted bread. Again my old toaster never mastered this one. Left to it's regular setting the toast would come out soggy and rather anaemic looking yet when I knocked it up a notch it just burned so I would have to keep my eye on it rather than leaving it to it's own devices.

A reheat button which isn't as great as the other functions. It seems that with any toaster, the reheat button simply turns your lovely toast into warm cardboard! Never mind eh!

Removable crumb tray. This is pretty standard on all toasters but it is pretty easy to clean and unlike my last toaster, it does actually catch ALL the crumbs and removing it is not a messy and complicated task.

As far as longe-livity is concerned I've had it for 6months now and the shiny coating has not got any scratches or dents despite it bieng thrown in and out of its corner in the kitchen. It works just as well as the day I bought it and I've got the feeling that it will continue to do so for alot of years.

It's really easy to clean...just wipe it down if the sides get greasy and the crumb tray is easily removed and easy to just rinse off and dry before replacing.

So I think I've told you everything you need to know. The only downfall with this one is the re-heat function which would be great if you like cardboard toast, or want to make crutons for your soup! I suppose with a more expensive toaster this wouldn't be a problem but then again I wouldn't know as I've never spent more than £25 for a toaster and I probably never will. Looking at it you wouldn't think it was a cheap toaster. It has some really usefull and well designed, albiet mostly standard functions. But the main thing is that it looks great and mostly everything works as it should do. So when your toaster breaks or even if you know someone who has put a toaster on their wedding gifts list, I would go for this one.

Now Im hungry after writing that one so I'm off for some crumpets, with about half a pound of butter on each one yuuuummmmy!!!
