Advantages: Good while it works with excellent results Disadvantages: Fails before guarantee expires, helpline slow to give satisfaction
...The breadmaker was given as a birthday present to mum by her family on 29th March 2002.
When it was working correctly, it made lovely bread.
About 15 months into the life of the breadmaker, there was a decline into the quality of the loaf it produced. We noticed the breadpan paddle bearing was tighter than it should be. This was replaced by MorphyRichards. The next loaf was slightly better, but long term results got worse! MorphyRichards offered to repair and were going to send a pre-paid return label, which never came. Another call to the help line suggested that the wrong yeast was being used. All this pussyfooting around is just hoping we will give up! The feeling we have is not to trust or recommend MorphyRichards breadmakers as the product usefulness is very short lived.
For a well established company to have product problems...

Advantages: Easy clean, fresh hot bread when you want it/ Disadvantages: Large amount of worktop useless most of time.
...I have one of these machines and have used it almost daily for 2 years and 7 months. I rattled on about it so much that my mother and my 2 sisters were moved to buy breadmakers, one bought the same make and the other two bought different and more expensive ones. The 2 expensive ones were a standard size and a very large size and both of these have been "binned" one went to a car boot sale and the other is in the garage because it took up too much space. The sister with the MorphyRichards machine and I are baking away merrily and thouroughly enjoy experimenting with different bits and pieces added to the mix. Fruit cakes and jams are a doddle and I weighed all the variations of cup quantities and just weigh the flour out while putting the other bits in the pan. It takes me less than 2 minutes to get a loaf under way from opening...

...You see a lot of breadmakers on the market today- some that cost over £100. I bought my MorphyRichards for £34 at Trago Mills and have not been sorry. I'm not a kitchen person by any stretch of the imagination but have found that baking bread is a snap. You throw together the ingredients (the breadmaker comes with a measuring spoon and measuring cup so you can't get the measurements wrong) depending on the recipe and approximately 3 hours later you have a house smelling of fresh bread.
Other nice features on the MorphyRichards is the timer so you can delay the time that you make it (ie set it so it is ready when you wake up in the morning). You can also make jam with it (though I haven't ventured to try that yet) and a variety of other breads like croissants, donuts, bagels, french sticks, which require a bit more effort (ie taking...
