Waste of money and coffee
Advantages End product is ok
Disadvantages Flawed & badly designed.
Having recently broken, we replaced our trusty but old coffee maker with a new, Morphy Richards Rapide 47474 from Comet. It makes 10 medium sized cups of coffee and it cost £25.
However it's going back in 2 days time because it's a load of cr&p.
Our machine was badly finished, however when I pointed this out to my colleague who bought it, "they're all like that" said the man in the shop apparently (???!!!)
There is only a small angled hole to pour the water into, meaning that inevitably, some of it will get spilt. This is a really bad design fault and one that should have been eradicated from day one.As soon as water is poured into the machine, it starts coming out, whether hot or cold.
The main fault with this product is that the "stop-cock" doesn't do it's job at all, meaning that when the coffee jug is taken away from the heated plate, coffee drops down onto the hotplate and causes a mess but also spilt coffee to boil beneath the jug, which can't be doing it much good at all. It also creates a smelly mess on the hotplate, which means more cleaning :(The coffee tastes fairly good and the machine is easy to clean, however these 2 slightly positive points don't out weigh how flawed this machine is and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Overall, very annoying!!!
