Compared to the first breadmaker I owned, it uses much less yeast - 1 tsp for a large loaf - the old machine used 2 1/4 tsp (I suppose that is why the Morphy Richards 48300 takes a long time to cook). (+) The best bread you will ever taste, on a timer just ready in time for breakfast. (-) If you can't wait since it smells so good... you might burn your fingers like me!
Advantages: Easy to clean, easy to use, lightweight, makes traditional shaped loaves Disadvantages: Leaves two small holes on bottom of bread from the kneading paddles (but I think most breadmakers do that anyway)
...suppose that is why the Morphy Richards 48300 takes a long time to cook). It's better for your health to minimise yeast and the loaf tastes much better. It takes a long time (a large basic white load takes 3 hours 25 mins) because to produce a good loaf would require a lot of kneading and rising. There is a fastbake option (80 minutes) which reduces the amount of rising and kneading but the loaf is smaller and not as soft. There is a timer option, ... ...will then be ready for you in the morning.
***HOW THE BREAD TASTES***
The bread was very delicious and soft and is in the shape of a traditional loaf, which looks very appetising (I have not seen any other breadmaker that makes a traditional shaped one). You will never want to eat ready-made again! I could tell the difference - shop bought bread always tastes of additives.
***FEATURES*** This is the second breadmaker I have owned. It comes with a recipe booklet, so all you need to do is add the ingredients in the order shown in the booklet into the bread pan, taking only 5 minutes. Then you just switch on the machine, making your selections. It also comes with a measuring cup and spoons so that you can measure the ingredients accurately which is important in order to make a good loaf. There is also a section in the booklet for troubleshooting if your loaf does not come out as it should. There are lots of recipes for white, wholemeal in different variations - for example, there is one for chocolate bread. There is even a recipe for gluten free bread which I have not tried yet but will amend this review once I do. I also like to make spelt bread (you can buy spelt flour from tesco, sainsburys etc.) - I have not tried it yet in this new machine but again I will post details once I have tried it.

***WHAT ELSE YOU CAN MAKE*** There is a dough option which is very handy if you want to make your own pizza or bread rolls. There are also jam and cake options which I have not tried. The only idea I did not like about the cake option, is that it requires you to mix ingredients in two bowls before adding to the breadmaker.
***MAINTENANCE*** The breadmaker is very easy to clean. Once you remove the bread, leave the bread pan to cool then wipe it with a damp cloth. You can also wipe the breadmaker. You can make either a small (1.5lb) or large (2lb) loaf. The breadmaker is fan-assisted and the loaf came out really evenly browned.

Advantages: Easy to use Disadvantages: Takes to long to cook
I love my Morphy Richards 48300. It is very easy to use. All you do if follow the enclosed recipe guideline and throw the ingredients into the container, press the setting you require and off you go. It makes some nice taste breads. I made chocolate bread 2 days ago and i put some squarty cream on the top, well yummy. The only trouble it is takes 2 to 3 hours to make the bread. But it gives a great smell into the room.
The best thing about having ...

Advantages: Easy to use, and simple maintenance, and requires only small amounts of yeast to make lovely bread which is healthier than some bread makers Disadvantages: One day bread makers will be smaller
This is our 3rd breadmaker we have owned in the last 12 years. The whole family are health concious and this had a big part to play in the choice of purchase.
The breadmaker requires only a small amount of yeast compaired to alot of others that we looked at in this price range, which with low yeast makes it healthier to eat, it is very easy to use, clean, modern looking, and is light weight.
There are many different functions available, to make ...
